Today’s General Hospital recap for December 1, 2023, details Chase’s proposal, Pikeman problems, Molly’s angst, and more.
Marriage On The Mind
Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) had a bone to pick with Lois about both her mother and grandmother mentioning marriage in front of Chase (Josh Swickard). Brook Lynn insisted that she and Chase were not ready for marriage because they only just moved in together. Lois believed a wedding was the logical next step.
When Chase arrived to help them cook, all Brook Lynn could do was bring up music, but he was distracted by Lois’s (Rena Sofer) nails. After Lois invited BLQ and Chase to stay for dinner, Lois brought up Gloria’s marriage talk, causing Brook Lynn to spit out her wine.
Once alone, Brook Lynn apologized for the marriage talk, but Chase seemed to like it. In fact, after asking Lois to name the most important moments of her life, Chase told her he wanted to remember this one. Then, he got down on one knee and proposed.
Carly Meets ‘Pikeman’
Carly (Laura Wright) welcomed a mysterious stranger to Kelly’s and served him a special hamburger before noticing a homeless man outside she invited him in for some warmth and food. He refused to come inside, but was fine with her bringing him food outside. Meanwhile, the mysterious stranger seemed to take a liking to Carly.
While Dex (Evan Hofer) and Sonny (Maurice Benard) waited to meet with a representative from Pikeman at Sonny’s money-laundering restaurant, Sonny questioned Dex about what he learned when tailing Austin. Sonny was a little worried when Dex told him that he once put Austin in a headlock. He warned Dex not to talk to Dante without Diane as counsel.
Soon, the Pikeman man arrived so Sonny could once again demand to know who the Metro Court pool shooter was and the man once again could refuse to tell him. After they got the small talk out of the way, the man offered to pay double if Sonny handled another shipment for them. Sonny decided he was out and told the man to take the message back to Pikeman.
Later, as the mystery men left Kelly’s, the Pikeman representative found him to relay Sonny’s message.
Nina Gets An Earful
Nina (Cynthia Watros) arrived at Wyndemere to find a freaked-out Ava (Maura West). She knew why her friend was frantic when Ava showed her the photo of Austin’s (Roger Howarth) dead body that arrived in the mail. Nina was stunned to hear that Austin was shot to death right before Thanksgiving.
Nina insisted that Ava take the note and photo to the police, but Ava wasn’t about to do the right and smart thing. Finally, Ava told Nina the whole sordid tale of thinking she killed Nikolas (Adam Huss), leading to her involvement with Austin and Mason (Nathanyael Grey).
When Ava got to the Sonny part of the story, including the arc with Nanny Betty (Ella Lentini) and the Cyrus (Jeff Kober) connection, Nina was floored. Ava explained that she and Austin fought at the gallery the night before he died. It was the last time she saw him. She just has to prove it. After Nina left, Nina placed the note and photo in the fire.
As for Nina, she ran straight to Sonny and asked him why he never told her any of this.
Surrogate Solution?
Kristina (Kate Mansi) brought Molly (Kristen Vaganos) back to her apartment after she found her crying hysterically on a park bench. Molly looked around and realized she had never been to her sister’s home before. They sat down on the couch for a drink and enjoyed some sisterly bonding time.
Molly finally showed Kristina her binder full of women…we mean…potential surrogates. She then broke down and admitted that TJ (Tajh Bellow) didn’t know she even had these prospects because she saw the surrogate coordinator behind his back.
She continued telling Kristina about her day, including running into Willow and holding Amelia, before once again crying that she might never be a mother. That prompted Kristina to once again offer to be Molly and TJ’s surrogate. This time it looked as if Kristina would consider it.
