Today’s General Hospital recap for October 23, 2023, finds Sasha torn about leaving town not knowing how many friends she has. Plus, Sonny met with Selina, and Cyrus totally terrified Portia.

Sasha Has A Cheerleading Section

Cody (Josh Kelly) dropped by to see Sam (Kelly Monaco) and thank her for her help with Sasha (Sofia Mattsson). He even had a small gift for her. As they talked, he confessed that he lied to Mac (John J. York) about not being his son. Sam was later shocked when Cody informed her that Sasha was leaving town.

A tearful Sasha was continuing to pack when Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) stopped in. He did his best to get her not to leave town. He knew she had been through hell and back the last few months and told her he went through something similar when he was brainwashed during his WSB mission.

At the time, he tried to shut everyone out but realized that was a mistake. Sasha admitted their situations were similar but he had a family to return to and she did not. Staying in PC only reminded her of what she lost. Dante still asked her to stay, telling her he’d miss her, and so would Sam and Cody.

When Lucy (Lynn Herring) and Maxie (Kirsten Storms) returned to the office from lunch, Tracy (Jane Elliot) was already there and angry that they wanted to change the Face of Deception without telling her. Maxie tried to explain that Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) would make a perfect Face of Deception, but Tracy pulled rank with her majority ownership and declared Sasha would remain their spokesperson.

Tracy reminded Lucy that Sasha was the one who relaunched the company. She also thought Sasha needed this job on an emotional level. Tracy also had a point when she told Lucy that she would be sending a bad message if they fired a woman because of mental health issues.

Maxie stepped in and explained to Lucy that Tracy was right — they should have a heart and give Sasha the chance she deserved. In the end, she demanded Maxie and Lucy re-hire Sasha.

Lois Stuns Brook Lynn

Brook Lynn (Amands Setton) met up with Lois (Rena Sofer) at the Metro Court and couldn’t wait to share that she was about to sign Blaze as a client. Lois was proud but wondered if Brook Lynn was happy to be back in the music biz. BLQ said she should have never left but Lois informed her not everyone felt that way.

Brook Lynn admitted Granny Tracy was the only one who felt that way so Lois blurted out that GRanny was about to gift her Deception. Needless to say, Brook Lynn was stunned and nearly spit out her drink. At this point, Lois seemed to be on Tracy’s side.

After Lois explained that Tracy thought Brook Lynn needed a more stable career, BLQ called her grandmother selfish. She believed Tracy did all of this for herself as she always did, but Lois insisted she was being altruistic this time.

Sonny Has A New Mission

Dex (Evan Hofer) filled Sonny (Maurice Benard) in on Ava’s (Maura West) kidnapping. After he heard the whole sordid tale, Sonny announced that he was sure Cyrus (Jeff Kober) was the man they were looking for and they needed to devise a plan to get the proof they needed and put him back behind bars.

However, the planning session needed to wait because Selina (Lydia Look) arrived at Sonny’s money-laundering restaurant and he had a bone to pick with her and wanted to know how he allowed Gladys (Bonnie Burroughs) to accumulate such a gambling debt without telling him.

Selina explained everything that happened with Gladys and claimed innocence, but Sonny accused her of using Gladys to get information on him. Selina tried to diffuse Sonny’s anger by admitting she regretted ever allowing Gladys into her poker game. Sonny asked her to make amends by keeping her eye on Cyrus.

Portia Deals With Her Worst Nightmare

Portia (Brook Kerr) was alarmed when Cyrus approached her at the GH nurses’ station. When she told him he needed to stay away from her and her family, Cyrus assured her that she had nothing to fear from him but Portia didn’t buy it. She wasn’t going to forget that he held herself and Trina (Tabyana Ali) hostage and planned to get a restraining order.

Cyrus immediately began talking about God forgiving him and asked Portia for her forgiveness. Portia wasn’t about to give it and told him even when he apologized for his past actions. Cyrus claimed he would take all that resentment from her if he could — just to cleanse her soul. Portia declared that the law made a mistake by releasing him back into society but she knew in her heart that he wasn’t a changed man.
