Following the announcement that Steve Burton would be returning to General Hospital as Jason Morgan now that Disney-ABC has dropped its COVID-19 vaccine mandate, Ingo Rademacher has posted a video to Instagram about the lawsuit he filed against the company that is now being appealed.

Ingo Rademacher Reacts To Steve Burton’s Return

Both Burton and Rademacher were let go from GH in 2021 when they chose not to get the COVID vaccine. Burton went on to reprise his role as Harris Michaels on both Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem and Days of Our Lives. He recently left DAYS and will be returning to GH this winter. The soap made the announcement at the end of its primetime special on January 4, with Burton confirming the news with Daily Drama.

The next morning, Rademacher took to Instagram to post a video about his lawsuit, as well as explain what he believes was the real reason for his and Jax’s Port Charles exit. He was also diplomatic about Burton’s return.

Rademacher Makes Allegations Against ABC

“I say this because the news of Steve Burton coming back on the show was announced today and a big congratulations to him,” Rademacher wrote in a long caption next to his video. “I know some of you are going to say well, If you wouldn’t have sued them, maybe you could’ve come back too, but that’s not true because what we found out during discovery is that they were trying to figure out a way to fire me (without getting sued) because they didn’t like my political and social views. So now the question you have to ask yourself is, whether you agree with me or not, do you believe in freedom of speech?”

“If the vaccine mandate hadn’t come along, they would have fired me, that’s what their plan was,” Rademacher continued in the video.

He mentioned that other GH stars post their political views and still have their jobs, mentioning actress Nancy Lee Grahn by name. Grahn is known for her outspoken political opinions, which are on the opposite end of the spectrum from Rademacher’s.

Rademacher claimed there is a double standard at GH “where I can’t speak but someone else on the show has the political freedom to say what they want.”

As he ended the video, he promised to say more about the topic at a later date. In June, the actor lost his lawsuit filed against Disney-ABC when a judge decided that the actor chose not to get vaccinated for health reasons, rather than refusing on religious grounds, as he claimed.
