Big news came this past weekend for General Hospital fans. Disney Television Group President, Craig Erwich gave some fabulous insight into the future of the soap. As it stands, GH isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

A Television Mainstay

According to Soap Hub, the show will go on! Erwich said the show is “absolutely a tremendous pride” for the network. He praised GH’s remarkable achievements and that the network enjoyed having the daily sudser to entertain fans.

“We’re very committed to the show. You saw the way that we celebrated the 60th (with the special General Hospital: 60 Years of Stars and Storytelling).” He is quoted as saying. “We do that because it’s a show we’re very proud of. We remain deeply committed to General Hospital.”

This can only spell good things for the future of the fan-favorite sudser. They won’t have to fear their stories disappearing from the lineup like so many others of the past.
