One wouldn’t really ever accuse General Hospital‘s Sonny Corinthos of being the deepest of deep thinkers, but his portrayer, Maurice Benard frequently plumbs the depths and comes out with some most appreciatable sagacious insights.

The actor recently took to Instagram with a video of himself and actor/musician son Joshua belting out “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” which he captioned: “Sometimes, even if you can’t sing don’t be afraid to make a fool out of yourself, you would only make a fool out of yourself if you didn’t take that chance.
“When I first started acting, no one believed in what I was doing I was actually laughed at. I was put in a mental institution, and they laughed even harder.
“But guess what I persevered didn’t give up no matter how much pain there was I pursued my passion, and I haven’t looked back. I’m pretty sure no one’s laughing now.
“PLEASE NEVER STOP FOLLOWING YOUR DREAMS.”
