My mind immediately races back to all the recent disappearances and dangerous dealings. Could this be someone connected to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his increasingly perilous Pikeman dilemma? Or what about the fallout from the Hook Killer saga, even though that *seemed* resolved? Remember when Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) was found? Or the endless mysteries surrounding the Cassadines? A body found means a murder investigation, and that means Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) will be working overtime, trying to piece together a puzzle that no doubt involves half the town.
Who could it be? Is it someone from the fringes, caught in the crossfire? Or a major player whose demise will send shockwaves through every family in town? Now, let’s talk about Pentonville, that lovely little resort where so many of our favorite (and least favorite) characters have spent time. Spoilers reveal that a ‘double attack’ is coming, putting two inmates in grave danger. Given who’s currently residing in those hallowed halls, all signs point to Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). Oh, my word!
Drew is already in a tough spot, serving time for the SEC tip-off (thanks, Nina!). He’s been trying to lay low, but let’s be real, ‘low’ isn’t really an option when you’re a Cain or a Corinthos-adjacent. And Cyrus? That man is a snake, plain and simple. Even from behind bars, he manages to pull strings and create chaos. We know his ‘religious awakening’ is just another one of his manipulative games, a tactic he’s perfected over years of tormenting Port Charles.
Who would want to attack both of them? Is it a coordinated hit? Is it internal prison politics gone horribly wrong? Or is it someone from the outside trying to silence Drew, perhaps about something he learned about Pikeman or even his past with the Cassadines? And Cyrus, well, the list of people who want him dead is probably longer than the Port Charles phone book! My gut tells me this attack could be a desperate attempt to keep information from coming out, especially if Drew is getting closer to the truth about Sonny’s shady dealings or even Nina’s involvement in his incarceration. This could be the thing that finally gets Drew out of Pentonville – or puts him in a body bag!
Horrible Plans Unravel: Nina’s World Crumbles?
And speaking of Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros)… the spoilers are teasing that ‘horrible plans’ will take center stage. Come on, we all know whose plans those are, don’t we? Nina’s secret about tipping off the SEC about Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Drew is a ticking time bomb, and it’s about to explode! The walls are closing in, and it’s about time!
My long-time fan heart aches for Carly. She’s been through so much, and Nina’s petty revenge has just been sickening. Nina has always had a manipulative streak, going all the way back to her time in a coma, but this feels particularly cruel. I’ve watched Nina make bad choices for years – from keeping Sonny’s identity a secret in Nixon Falls to her constant meddling. Now, with Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) trying to find peace, this secret coming out could shatter the fragile family dynamics that have just started to heal. Sonny’s reaction, when he finds out the woman he loves put Drew in prison and tried to ruin Carly, is going to be epic. Maurice Benard is going to deliver some phenomenal scenes, mark my words!
But could there be other ‘horrible plans’ at play? Maybe something with Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and Esme Prince (Avery Pohl)? Esme is always up to no good, and Spencer is trying to protect Ace. Or what about Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot), who always has a scheme brewing? No matter who it is, these plans are guaranteed to bring delicious drama!
