Fans of Scott Reeves (ex-Ryan McNeil, The Young and the Restless; ex-Steven Lars Webber, General Hospital) can catch him in a new flick currently airing in 1,800 theaters nationwide.
Scott Reeves Stars In Someone Like You
Reeves plays a grieving father in the ultimately uplifting, soaptastic sounding Someone Like You. Its plot is described thusly: “Shocking news hits after young architect Dawson (Jake Allyn) loses his best friend London. In his heartbreak, Dawson is compelled to launch an impossible search for London’s secret sister, twins separated as embryos. But along the way, Dawson never planned to fall in love.”
Based on Karen Kingsbury’s novel of the same name, Someone Like You was adapted for the screen by Tyler Russell, who also performed directorial duties, via the author’s eponymous production company. Sarah Fisher, Robyn Lively, Bart Johnson, and Lynn Collins round out the cast.
In an interview with People, Kingsbury effused, “Of all the books I’ve written, Someone Like You is easily my readers’ favorite,” and relayed that financing the project was a no-brainer. “I’ve learned when it comes to filmmaking, money holds the creative power. My books have been adapted into other wonderful films and TV shows, but the only way to make the movie in my heart was to make it myself.”
In the lead-up to the flick’s premiere, Reeves took to Instagram and declared, “I am so proud to be a part of this film and I am honored to have worked with everyone involved. You were all amazing…It changed my professional and personal life and I’m forever grateful. But most importantly we made it for YOU…The movie is big, beautiful, and has a gentle soul that I hope honors the book!
