On-screen, Melissa Ordway’s a mother of one navigating some mighty choppy parenting waters, off-screen she’s mommy to two daughters, one of whom is marking a most special day.

Melissa Ordway Hosts A Coronation

In the Gaston household, February 27 is Coronation Day AKA the day that Olivia Christine Gaston became an official part of Melissa and her husband Justin’s family.

In an Instagram post accompanying a video put together with the utmost care, Ordway explained and enthused, “‘Coronation Day’ is what we call our adoption ‘gotcha day’. It’s a huge celebration in our family. (and no one likes a party as much as Olivia) It’s the day the judge and state of CA made our family official. Even though it had always been official to us.”

Ordway then addressed her Olivia saying, “I had dreamed about you. I had heard God whisper to me about you. I prayed for you. And the moment I laid eyes on you, I was forever changed. You brightened our world, Olivia. And I couldn’t be more grateful to be your mom.

“We are so proud of you. You are the sweetest, kindest soul I’ve ever known. Thank you for letting me be a part of your story. I know God had an awesome plan for your life.”

It was seven years ago today that Ordway shared with her followers a snap of her, Gaston, baby Olivia, and a judge, all beaming happily — yes, even the wee one!

At the time the proud mommy penned, “Today was the second most special day of my life. Olivia’s adoption day! Surrounded by our family, the judge made Olivia officially a Gaston (even though she already was in our heart). We cannot thank God enough for blessing our family with the most beautiful, smart, fun, little ray of sunshine. Olivia lights up every room she crawls in, haha, and has brought us so much joy. We love you, Olivia. More than you will ever know! Happy Adoption Day!!!”

Mommy, daddy, and Olivia eventually went from a trio to a family of four with the arrival of Sophie Jolie, on December 9, 2017. She’s the equally adorable tyke keeping to Olivia’s side in the video above.
