Today’s The Young and the Restless recap for October 23, 2023, sees Victor continuing his act with Adam, Nick surprising Sally, and Nikki growing more concerned than ever.

Adam is Left More Confused Than Ever

Victor (Eric Braeden) put on his dementia act at the GCAC the second he saw Adam (Mark Grossman) walk in. He totally perplexed Adam when she happily asked him to join him for a drink after chewing him out and firing him the day before.

This time, Victor sang Adam’s praises, which only served to worry Adam more than ever. Adam chose to take this opportunity to complain about working for Nate (Sean Dominic), so Victor told him that he suspected Nate and Victoria of conspiring against him.

Adam believed Victoria wanted her old job back but he wasn’t sure she was doing anything underhanded to get it. Victor said he heard whispers that led him to believe Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) thought he was mentally deteriorating. Adam assured his dad that he had his back.

Later, Victor and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) discussed the situation. Nikki thought Adam was plotting against Victor but Victor wasn’t so sure and promised Nikki he’d know soon enough.

As for Adam, he decided to visit Victor’s office alone where he found some strange doodles on a notepad that left him perplexed.

Nick Turns to Sharon…And Sally

Nick turned to the one person he could always turn to regarding his concerns about Victor — Sharon (Sharon Case) — and as always, Sharon was there to listen. He wanted her professional opinion so he told her all the strange things that have been going on with Victor of late.

By the end of the conversation, Sharon was as alarmed as Nick and thought that someone needed to have a talk with Victor. They worried that Victor may have dementia, but Sharon admitted she was no expert.

She was willing to have a casual conversation with Victor to see if there was something off, but she certainly couldn’t diagnose him. However, when Nick told her he wanted to spend more time at NE for Victor’s sake, she worried he wouldn’t have time for their business. Nick assured her that he wouldn’t abandon her.

The subject then turned to his breakup with Sally (Courtney Hope) and Sharon wanted to know if they’d still be involved on a professional level. He wasn’t sure but knew he’d feel guilty if he pulled the funding from her new interior design company.

Sally was also worried about this, but she agreed to meet Nick and see what he had to say. She was relieved when Nick agreed to still help her start her business.

Claire Grace Has a Secret

Nikki thrilled her new hire Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) when she told her she knew she could trust her. Claire was so grateful for the compliment that she sent Nikki home early and promised to lock up.

Once alone in Nikki’s office, Claire intently stared at a photo of Nikki and Victoria. She also had a folder full of newspaper clippings about Victoria, Nikki, and the Newman clan in her hotel room.
