February 26 was a milestone day for Melody Thomas Scott, marking as it did 45 years since her debut on The Young and the Restless. Much celebrating and exaltation followed. But while Thomas Scott no doubt appreciated all the kudos, she wasn’t content with sitting by and raking it in. Instead, she convinced several of her costars to join her in giving back to the community.

Melody Thomas Scott And More From Y&R Do Their Part

Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) took to Instagram with a snap of him, Melody Thomas Scott and Lauralee Bell (Christine Blair) posed outside Project Angel Food and explained, “This organization serves free food to thousands of special needs people all over LA COUNTY! It is MELODY’s (NIKKI’S) 45th anniversary and she wanted to celebrate it here!”

Bell used the same platform to share a picture of herself and Thomas Scott surrounded by a gaggle of Y&R gals — Colleen Zenk [Jordan Howard], Tracey Bregman [Lauren Fenmore Baldwin], and Michelle Stafford [Phyllis Summers] — and a caption that reads in part, “As if @melodythomassco isn’t amazing enough, she choose to celebrate her 45th anniversary of @youngandrestlesscbs at @projectangelfood We all felt so special to be a part of her day working for this incredible organization that is life changing to so many! Thank you to all that helped us in the kitchen.”
