Their connection was always fraught, a little too convenient, and ultimately, not built to last. But here we are, years later, and Y&R is pulling them back into each other’s orbit with this mysterious ‘new information.’
What could it be? My seasoned soap opera instincts are tingling! Could it be something unearthed about Hilary’s past? With Amanda Sinclair (also Mishael Morgan, bless this show for the doppelganger drama!) still very much in Devon’s life, connected to his family, and often digging into legal mysteries, it wouldn’t be a stretch for a new detail about Hilary’s life or even her will to surface, impacting Devon’s legacy — a legacy he built with his adoptive father, Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John, forever missed). Devon is fiercely protective of everything Neil gave him, and Hilary was a huge part of that. Any threat to that legacy would send him into a tailspin.
Or perhaps it’s something related to their joint ventures at Chancellor-Winters or the Grand Phoenix? Abby, ever the ambitious businesswoman who always strives to make her own mark outside of her legendary parents, and Devon, fiercely protective of his empire, could easily clash over a financial revelation. But let’s not forget, Y&R loves to pull from the archives. Could it be a secret from their own brief romantic entanglement, something that lay dormant, only to resurface now and cause a fresh wave of conflict? Maybe it relates to Chance Chancellor, Abby’s then-husband, and something they kept from him? I’m picturing a dramatic confrontation at Society, complete with hushed tones and intense glares. This is Genoa City, after all; secrets always come out!
Teriah’s Next Chapter: A Major Decision for Tessa & Mariah
And then there’s Teriah. Oh, Tessa and Mariah! If anyone deserves a moment of pure, unadulterated happiness, it’s these two. Their journey has been one for the ages, a true testament to love conquering all. From Tessa’s initial manipulative schemes (remember her blackmailing the Newmans? Classic!) to Mariah’s unwavering loyalty and belief in her, their bond has only grown stronger. Mariah, bless her heart, has stood by Tessa through career ups and downs, family drama, and even accusations. She’s always been Tessa’s biggest fan, literally and figuratively — a true romantic hero.
So, what is this ‘major decision’ Tessa is about to make? My prediction engines are in overdrive, and I’m hoping, praying, and manifesting something wonderful for our favorite musical couple. Could Tessa be offered a huge record deal that requires her to leave Genoa City, perhaps temporarily? We know her music career has always been a driving force. How would Mariah, who just started to find her footing again, react to that? Mariah is fiercely supportive but also deeply rooted in Genoa City, especially with her mother Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) and sister Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster).
Or, and this is what my hopeful heart is truly wishing for, could this ‘major decision’ be a proposal? Imagine Tessa, perhaps on stage after a show, or in a beautifully intimate setting, getting down on one knee for Mariah! The fans, myself included, have been clamoring for a Teriah wedding for what feels like an eternity. Their love story has been so hard-won and genuine. Or, even more exciting, could they be talking about starting a family? Mariah has always had that nurturing spirit, and it wouldn’t be a surprise for them to discuss expanding their beautiful unit. Whatever it is, I have a feeling it’s going to be a tear-jerker in the best possible way. Teriah deserves their happily ever after, or at least a very significant step towards it.
March 31st is poised to deliver classic Y&R drama and romance. From the unexpected resurgence of conflict between Devon and Abby to the eagerly anticipated next chapter for Tessa and Mariah, Genoa City is never dull. I can barely wait to see how these storylines unfold and what new twists our beloved writers have in store for us.
