Like her Young and the Restless alter-ego, Camryn Grimes (Mariah Copeland) went on quite the journey to motherhood. Now comes word that the actress is mourning the one who first made her a mom.
Camryn Grimes Says Goodbye To Riley
In a moving Instagram post, Grimes memorialized her late, much-loved fur baby: “One day in 2009, while living in New York City I went to the movies to see I Love You, Man. In the movie Jason Segel’s character has a dog which he would explain was a mix of a pug and a beagle… a Puggle. I was instantly in love and less than a year later I held a little girl in my arms and our lives together started. I named her Riley.
“Yesterday I held my little girl in my arms for the last time and told her the story of us. I thanked her for every chapter she spent by my side, every day she was the reason I got out of bed and all the days she was compassionate when I didn’t. Homes and relationships, happiness and heartbreak, I was okay because she was my constant.
My Riley girl, you are and always will be the first to make me a mom, thank you for walking me to the newest chapter of my life, I’m devastated that ours has come to an end. A piece of my heart is gone with you. I love you forever.”

A plethora of Grimes’s co-stars were among the many who penned posts of condolences. Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Lawson) wrote, “I’m so sorry Cammy. She and Soph are entering heaven together this week and playing for sure,” while Bryton James (Devon Hamilton) sent his on and off-screen bestie all his love.
Daily Drama sends Camryn Grimes and her family our own sincere condolences as they grieve their loss.
