Colleen Zenk sat down with Michael Fairman to discuss her time on The Young and the Restless. During the interview, the Aunt Jordan portrayer had a lot to say about costar Melody Thomas Scott.
An Award-Winning Performance
In a clip from the recent podcast on Instagram, Zenk spoke highly of Melody Thomas Scott and how she’s handling Nikki’s alcoholism. “She’s stunning. She’s stunning!” Zenk said of Melody. She then made it clear her screen pal deserves all the accolades. “Please someone give her the Emmy right now, don’t wait until June. She’s fabulous!”
The actress went on to talk about watching Melody play out Nikki struggling with her demons. “This was forced on her,” Colleen says of Nikki. “You just feel for the character.” She’s not the only one who feels sorry for Nikki. As Colleen points out, so do the fans.
All in all, Melody is hitting all the right marks since Aunt Jordan caused Nikki’s downward spiral. Colleen went on to remark, “Just the pain in her face, it’s a beautiful, beautiful portrayal.” And, she’s right. Everyone at home feels it too. This isn’t like Nikki’s past relapses. This story is on a whole other level.

Colleen joined the cast of Y&R late last year as Aunt Jordan during a story arch that ultimately reunited Cole (J. Eddie Peck) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) with their long-thought-dead daughter. As of this publication, Aunt Jordan is missing after a fire at the prison where the character was being held.
Fans of Zenk fondly remember her as the iconic Barabara Ryan on As the World Turns. She spent from 1979 – 2010 playing the famed character until the show’s final airdate.
