Courtney Hope has kept Sally Spectra in the spotlight during her cross-over from The Bold and the Beautiful to The Young and the Restless. Last year her character suffered the tragedy of losing her first child and Courtney’s acting was outstanding. So much so, she’s up for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
Courtney Hope’s Scene Selections
Courtney Hope is one of very few who have garnered nominations for playing the same character on two soaps (one being the iconic Kimberlin Brown). For Courtney, this year’s nomination hits differently considering the material she scenes she chose for consideration. “I submitted from the hospital from the moment that I woke up from the C-section and finding out that my baby is no longer alive,” she told the Soaps In Depth. “Like, two scenes from that, and then the last two scenes were of me in the hospital holding the little box of trinkets from my baby and telling the nurse that I wanted to see her so I could say goodbye in person.”
As for how she celebrated, the star says the person to hear the news was a very special woman in her life. “I called Mom first only because she always puts it on speakerphone for the whole family to hear.” She went on to say how cool it was to hear everyone’s reactions all at once. “I couldn’t have done the whole journey of my career without them.”
