This week’s The Young and the Restless recap for the week of August 5th featured Sharon tormenting herself with visions of Cameron, Kyle and Summer’s battle going overboard, and so, so much more!
The Young and the Restless Recaps
Monday, August 5th
Faith (Reylynn Caster) got advice from Sharon (Sharon Case) about Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Briant) and decided to let the teen go to a concert with her. This was great news for Lucy who was already bragging about it to her parents. The gals grabbed coffee before heading to the venue where Lucy promptly snuck some alcohol. Back at Crimson Lights, Phyllis and Sharon had it out.
Summer (Allison Lanier) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) had some fun with Harrison (Redding Munsell) at Crimson Lights. They were having such a good time Summer decided to ignore a call from Kyle (Michael Mealor).
Diane (Susan Walter) arrived home all excited about work but was caught off guard by Jack’s (Peter Bergman) grand plans. He set up a romantic night and framed his vows as an anniversary gift. She nearly cried while being swept off her feet. How utterly romantic. Well, it would have been if Summer hadn’t interrupted them.
Tuesday, August 6th
Sally (Courtney Hope) and Billy had a good talk at Society about Adam (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan)…and baby Ava. It was the one-year anniversary of the baby’s death and Sally was beside herself. Billy offered comforting words before she went home and broke down crying.
Over at the club, Nate (Sean Dominic) guilt-tripped Lily (Christel Khalil) about leaving the family company. Soon after, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) approached them and warned Lily to stay on the right side. Does she want to be caught in the crosshairs? Lily stormed off after quipping that she couldn’t wait to prove them all wrong. Later, Victor (Eric Braeden) got the scoop from Nate…and Lily decided to boot Billy from the company.
Back at the cottage, Sharon got another visit from Cameron and the vision tormented her…and his insistence she needed to stay off her meds and dive into her past to cure what ails her. The concert went sideways when Faith noticed Lucy was drunk. She hauled her home and Lucy came clean to Daniel.
Wednesday, August 7th
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Lily laid it all out for Billy. He’s a liability and he’s weakening the company. Either he goes or the company sinks. Billy did not like hearing the cold, hard facts.
Devon (Bryton James) and Abby (Melissa Ordway) had a date night at the club and were gushing all over each other. She all but begged him to take a vacation together but work was #1 right now for her man. He did take her home for some “bedtime.”
Poor Harrison was poorly from eating at the club which led to a blowout between Kyle and Summer. How dare she not call him?! Kyle’s anger was over the top and eventually, Jack (Peter Bergman) stepped in to try and keep the peace.
Adam came home and Sally simply did not remind him of their daughter’s anniversary and kept her breakdown to herself. Instead, she asked about Connor (Judah Mackey)…who is doing much better, thank you very much. Eventually, he spied the little pink hat, put the pieces together, and grieved right along with Sally.
Thursday, August 8th
Adam, Chelsea, and Connor met at Crimson Lights for breakfast. Connor admitted to his OCD being triggered…but that he also handled it. His parents were proud but concerned. What if he doesn’t do so well next time? Later, Adam was confronted by Billy. He demanded to know why Chelsea was so off-kilter lately.
Much to his credit, Billy took in what Lily said and agreed. He’d take a step back and be a silent partner in order to protect his family legacy. He suggested they throw Jill (Jess Walton) under the bus by disclosing her health issues and marking that as a reason for his exit. Lily wasn’t so sure.
Claire (Hayley Erin) arrived at the Abbott mansion and stepped into the middle of Kyle and Summer’s war. By the end, Kyle vowed to talk to his lawyer and sort out this custody mess. He’s had ENOUGH! Oh, and he wants Claire to spy on Summer when he’s not around. As for Summer, she ran off to cry to her lawyer.
Friday, August 9th
Kyle spent the morning with a much better Harrison while Summer turned to Victor for help. She wasn’t sure her legally adopting Harrison while they were in Italy was enough to protect her in court. Victor decided to text Kyle himself to get the story.
Victor met Kyle at the lounge and urged him to make things right with Summer. Harrison’s happiness is more important than anything. It seems like Kyle took the warning seriously because he then texted Summer to meet.
Phyllis was delighted to run into Jack and Diane at the club. And, by that we mean she couldn’t wait to sling mud Diane’s way. The ladies had a whole fight about who was the worst mama. Poor Jack had to put his foot down to end it.
The Young and the Restless ended the week with Devon surprising Abby with a romantic picnic in the park and a redo proposal. This time, he had a ring, said a heartfelt speech, and she got to say yes the right way.
