Today’s The Young and the Restless recap for November 13, 2023, details Nikki’s offer to Claire, Victor’s attempt to make amends, and Victoria and Nick’s confusion.
Claire Gets Her Wish
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) took Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) to task for going along with Victor’s (Eric Braeden) plan but her mother had no desire to talk about it that night. Victoria didn’t really care what Nikki wanted and began ranting and expressing her rage. How could Nikki even allow Victor to do such a thing and exploit his kids’ feelings like that?
Nikki admitted that Victor didn’t even tell her what he was up to when he started his plan. Once she knew what was going on, she told him to come clean, but he didn’t and she couldn’t control him, something Victoria should know. Too bad Victoria took it all as a personal affront. She was also hurt to learn that Nikki never trusted Nate (Sean Dominic) and now feels justified.
After Victoria left, Nikki had a chat with Claire (Hayley Erin) and learned her aunt had taken a fall and was injured so Claire would be visiting her for a few days. Claire went on to explain that her aunt was a big fan of Nikki as she researched all she could about her when Claire got the job.
In fact, Claire claimed her aunt had planned on visiting Genoa City before breaking her arm and was excited to meet Nikki. Since Nikki was going to visit her sister Casey in California, she suggested she and Claire could stop off in Oregon first to visit her aunt and even take the Newman jet.
Nick’s Big Dilemma
Sharon (Sharon Case) was relieved to hear a positive update about Chance (Conner Floyd) before sitting down for some coffee with Nick (Joshua Morrow). She explained what happened to Chance and made it her business to tell Nick that Summer (Allison Lanier) was at the hospital.
When the subject turned to Victor and Nick told her that Victor was indeed faking dementia and why, Sharon was shocked — especially when she learned that Adam wasn’t the traitor. Instead, it was Nate. In her mind, Nate was a doctor and wouldn’t use someone’s illness to take advantage of them.
Sharon was not at all surprised to hear that Victor wanted Nick to return to Newman Enterprises and help clean things up, but she was surprised and disappointed not to learn that Nick was considering it. Sharon was understanding as always, but Nick had not made up his mind yet and didn’t want to leave Sharon in the lurch. Sharon told him to do what he felt he needed to do.
Adam’s Usual Angst
Adam (Mark Grossman) paid a visit to Victor in his office to see what his status was with Newman Enterprises considering his father was ready to give his brother Nate’s old job. Victor admitted he didn’t have an answer for him because he thought he would be firing Adam and not Nate.
Since Victor was honest with Adam, he decided to be honest with Victor. Adam confessed that he had planned to destroy the company once he got back on top, but he abandoned that plan now. That’s what Victor suspected but he was pleased by how honest and contrite Adam was bring now.
Adam also told Victor that seeing his father seem vulnerable made him change his mind. He realized how much he really cared about Victor when he thought he was going to lose him. At this point, Adam was just relieved to know the truth and wasn’t quite as angry as Victoria. He was even impressed with Victor’s little game, especially since it was warranted.
Adam also didn’t mince words when he told Victor that he felt he deserved Nate’s position. He had already run the company before and didn’t feel after all these years he still needed to work his way up from the bottom. It’s not Like Nate did.
Victor was worried about how he’d get along working so closely with Victoria and suggested he and his sister work out their differences. Victor also needed to know what Nick decided. At that point, Adam knew he would always be the third choice behind Nick and Victoria no matter how much he proved himself.
Later, everyone decompressed. Adam sat alone in Victor’s office, Victoria and Nick had a drink at the GCAC, and Victor and Nikki discussed her trip. Too bad Claire had other plans for this little getaway…
