This week’s The Bold and the Beautiful recap for January 29 – February 2, 2024, featured cousins on the brink of war, the past being raked up, and so much more.
Monday, January 29
RJ (Joshua Hoffman) became Bill’s (Don Diamont) official tenant…. Luna (Lisa Yamada) demanded to know whether or not Bill was her father. Poppy (Romy Park) assured that he was not.
Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) learned from Hope (Annika Noelle) and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson), respectively, that Thomas popped the question. Brooke implored Hope to turn Thomas down flat.
Tuesday, January 30
Brooke insisted to Hope that accepting Thomas’s proposal would be the biggest mistake of her life. Meanwhile, Thomas opined that Brooke would never accept the idea of him and Hope becoming husband and wife. Additionally, Ridge proffered that she wouldn’t stand in the way of the duo’s happiness.
Brooke demanded to know what Thomas was thinking when he proposed to Hope and wondered why he was setting himself up for heartbreak. After all, Hope would never be able to fully commit to him or give him what he wants.
Ridge visited Hope to remind her of what a “remarkable man” his son is. He gauged her level of interest in Thomas’s proposal and told her that he’d love to have her as a daughter-in-law.
Luna’s threat to do a test to try and find her birth father horrified Poppy. She begged her daughter not to pursue her line of questioning. Finn (Tanner Novlan) swung by and happily reunited with his aunt. New details concerning Poppy’s past began to emerge, namely that she was a semi-permanent guest of Jack (Ted King) and Li’s (Naomi Matsuda) roughly a year before Luna was born.
Wednesday, January 31st
Brooke and Ridge discussed Thomas’s proposal and Zende’s (Delon de Metz) obvious resentment of RJ. At the Beach House, Zende made a point of busting up RJ and Luna’s attempt to get some time alone.
At the cabin, Hope made her position to Thomas clear. She sees the progress he had made and is assured that he is a changed man. However, she was still not ready to fully commit to him. The two make love.
Thursday, February 1
Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) is stunned to hear that Thomas proposed to Hope. In fact, it concerned her quite a bit. Her main concern – what would become of Thomas if Hope said no.
Back at the Malibu house, Luna did her best to referee Zende and RJ. Being in the middle was not easy. Zende’s clear resentment of his cousin was overwhelming.
Thomas and Hope continued to revel in each other’s company. The ring was still on her neck and not on her finger, but they enjoyed a night of romance nonetheless.
Friday, February 2
RJ and Luna made love for the first time. Their sparks were off the chart it was clear these young lovers were head over heels. Opposite, Zende continued to bemoan what he perceived to be preferential treatment where RJ was concerned.
When Thomas pressed the issue, Hope reiterated that she just wasn’t ready to accept his proposal. Not yet, anyway. Maybe someday, though.
Eric (John McCook) pondered whether his upcoming doctor’s appointment would end with him receiving a positive prognosis.
