This week’s General Hospital recap for January 29 – February 2, 2024, featured a major blast from the past, a riveting gun battle, and so much more.
Monday, January 29
Much to Laura’s (Genie Francis) delight, Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) opened his eyes. Kevin recalled seeing Esme (Avery Pohl) clutching The Invader’s corporate credit card. Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) relayed that someone purchased a plane ticket to Paris. Just as Laura deduced that Esme is targeting Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez), the villainess tracked down her quarry.
Stella (Vernee Watson) bolstered a defeated Curtis (Donnell Turner). Her words of encouragement pushed him to resume his physical therapy with a more positive attitude.
Finn (Michael Easton) struggled to make a decision regarding Mrs. Muldoon. Should he allow Martin (Michael E. Knight) to pursue the theory that the widow was privy to her husband’s fraud? Tracy (Jane Elliot), Alexis, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), and Martin weigh in with opinions.
Tuesday, January 30
Laura warned Curtis and Portia (Brook Kerr) of Esme’s probable pursuit of Spencer and Trina. The group then made plans to travel to Paris. Meanwhile, Esme managed to infiltrate the ship that Spencer has rented for himself and Trina.
Back in Port Charles, Tracy bribes Mrs. Muldoon into dropping her lawsuit against Finn. The unexpected power move was designed to have the desired results for everyone. Win-win!
Jordan (Tanisha Harper) and Anna (Finola Hughes) paid Brennan a visit in Statesville. He tried to leverage what little he knew for a pardon, but ladies threatened him into coughing up. A mystery gunman opened fire on Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Ava (Maura West)
Wednesday, January 31st
Dex (Evan Hoffer) rode to Sonny and Ava’s rescues. The gunman managed to invade capture. Thankfully, everyone was unharmed.
Gemma, a reporter for the City Gazette, attempted to get to the bottom of why Nina (Cynthia Watros) was ousted from Crimson and Carly (Laura Wright) was reinstated.
Lois (Rena Sofer) and Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) managed to repair their friendship. The ladies sat down and hashed out everything.
Despite herself, Tracy agreed to continue Deception‘s partnership with Crimson — provided Carly proved herself in the position as EIC.
Esme momentarily bested Trina and Spencer before the duo attacked her in tandem. The argument spilled out onto the ship’s deck and concluded with Spencer and Esme tumbling over the railings!
Thursday, February 1
Michael (Chad Duell) attempted to tender his resignation, but Drew (Cameron Mathison) wouldn’t accept it. Drew tried and failed to interest Michael joining up with him to destroy Nina.
Over in Paris, the authorities refused to hold out much hope that Spencer and Esme had survived their plunge into the ocean. Trina refused to accept that Spencer may be dead.
In an attempt to honor her pact with Gregory (Gregory Harrison), Tracy bit her tongue when Lois inserted herself into Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase’s (Josh Swickard) wedding plans. Lois eventually got the message.
Meanwhile, Felicia (Kristina Wagner), Carly (Laura Wright), and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) rallied around Adam (Joshua Benard). He refused to return home with his father, opting instead to return to PCU.
Friday, February 2
Trina filled Josslyn in on recent goings-on. Josslyn took it upon herself to phone Cameron. Trina could use all the support she can get at a time like this.
Anna and Jordan’s attempted bust-up of the criminals selling stolen firepower ends with the FBI usurping the mission. Anna was floored to come face to face with Jagger Cates.
Laura returned to Port Charles and was floored with Nikolas (Adam Huss) came calling with baby Ace in tow.
Gemma’s article, “Drew Cain Is Leaving With His Heart And Not Head” was published. Opposite, Ava updated Nina on the attempt on her and Sonny’s lives and warned her to prepare for the worst where her and Sonny’s marriage was concerned.
