Days of our Lives Weekly Recap For May 13 - 17: Proposals, Propositions, and Petty Players

This week’s Days of our Lives recap for the week of May 13th, featured Xander wooing Sarah, Alex playing the field, Holly turning vicious, the hunt for Clyde heating up, and so much more!

Monday, May 13

Stephanie (Abigail Klein) and Everett (Blake Berris) hit up the pub after a great game of pickleball. They reminisced about the good old days and how their dating life began. All was going well until the gal he’d been flirting with walked up to the table and called him Bobby.

Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) called Ava (Tamara Braun) to the DiMera house for a chat…about Li’s killer. She wanted to know what Ava knew so they could at least clear Gabi’s good name. Ava kept mum until they got the call that the blood on Gil’s was Li’s…and the thumbprint matched Gil’s. Ava was sure she knew what went down.

Over at the SPD, Rafe relayed the news to Jada (Elia Cantu). She was stunned. But, she was also distracted by a slew of cold cases, especially Everett/Bobby’s mom’s death. This led to Rafe telling her about the mysterious case of the Argyle sweater woman that was never solved.

Meanwhile, Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) went to meet a lead, who turned out to be a drunken passed-out Leo (Greg Rikaart). They took him back to his hotel where he made a few cryptic remarks about baby Jude and EJ hiding the truth from Nicole before he fell into another drunken sleep.

EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) showed up at Sloan’s (Jessica Serfaty) door. Since the DNA showed he wasn’t the father he decided to leave the child where it was. Who cares if Nicole is sad? Why give his wife her heart’s desire when it could lead to their divorce? Then, EJ went to see Leo and paid him off with a whopping sum of money to stay quiet.

Tuesday, May 14

Holly (Ashley Puzemis) and Tate (Leo Howard) ran into each other in the hallway at school and she gave him the cold shoulder at first. She eventually broke down and tried to set him free. This secrecy wasn’t working for anyone. Tate wasn’t about all that though and kissed her. They belonged with each other.

Theresa (Emily O’Brien) showed up at home to find boxes upon boxes everywhere. It seems Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) was blowing through his new fortune. He even planned on moving back to the mansion soon (don’t worry about Theresa, he offered to pay her rent when he does). Theresa jumped into action to seduce him and get him into bed. It worked.

Brady (Eric Martsolf) gave Marlena (Deidre Hall) a Mother’s Day gift and asked her to witness the paperwork for Tate and Rachel’s trusts. He wanted to make sure the majority of his gifted inheritance went to his kids. As soon as that was all sorted they talked about Kristen and Alex, and how Brady felt about that whole affair.

Speaking of Kristen, she ran to the bistro to see Stefan (Brandon Barash) and talk about Gil’s black book and how they can now clear Gabi’s name. Soon after, Rafe and Jada showed up. Stefan and Rafe found common ground in their bid to free Gabi.

Wednesday, May 15

Rafe met up with Ava at her old apartment. He questioned her up and down about what went down with Gil and if she had any leads or secrets to share. Ava told him all she was willing to tell and cried until he felt bad enough for her that he let up.

At the same time, Kristen and Stefan share their joy in Gabi’s most certain release. They have enough evidence for reasonable doubt so there’s no way she’ll stay in prison. Kristen did warn Stefan to keep that “bitch” away from her.

EJ spent some time with Nicole and they touched base about her fight with Holly. He kissed her, soothed her, and made sure she’d still be able to make an appearance at the City Hall Fundraiser.

Later, Rafe showed up to see EJ and present the new evidence on Gil. Much to his, Stefan, and Kristen’s shock, EJ turned down reopening the case and claimed there simply was not enough in the files to warrant another trial.

As for Nicole, she went to work and presented Chad with Abigail’s journal that she found. Chad read through some pages and called Jack. As it turns out, Abigail was working on breaking huge news when she died. They surmised it was a story about the drug ring, which added up seeing as how Clyde went after her.

Outside of that drama, Sloan went after a drunken Leo about him nearly blowing up her whole life. This led to Leo asking a very curious question. Why exactly doesn’t EJ want his son back? Sloan did not answer.

Thursday, May 16

Xander (Paul Telfer) set up a sweet scavenger hunt for Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) that ended with a proposal. Sarah was blown away and incredibly grateful. Of course, she’ll marry him! She did make him propose twice, though.

Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) caught up with each other at the pub and chatted about all the goings-on. Jada came in and joined them and told them about Gil’s book and what it all meant.

Marlena (Deidre Hall) worried to John (Drake Hogestyn) about Maggie giving her money away. More so about Konstantin’s reaction to her generosity. They decided to call Maggie. Much to their surprise, Maggie had a huge plan to take down The Kon. She was going to make it look like he was embezzling from the company. Perfect!

As for Konstantin, after a walk in the square with Maggie, he got into it with Alex, who threatened to boot him from the mansion the second he moved back in. Kon didn’t like that. He then got Theresa alone and reminded her of their plan. Afterward, he was pleasantly surprised when Maggie asked him to help her distribute Victor’s funds into charitable trusts. Why, of course, he’d be happy to!

Additionally, Alex gifted Theresa a diamond bracelet and took her to be again. However, afterward, while Theresa was showering, he called Kristen and told her he missed her and he’d see her tomorrow.

Friday, May 17

Eric paid Marlena and John a visit with baby Jude in tow. Marlena gushed over her grandson and commented about how much the baby resembled Eric, right down to his little smile.

Holly’s vicious side came out to play when she and Nicole got into it. She begged to go to prom but Nicole stood firm. Holly lost it and screamed about how her mother’s dead babies were the lucky ones. Ouch. Poor Nicole ran off in tears.

Holly made her way to Marlena’s office for a little TLC. She cried on her shoulder as she relayed the showdown with her mother. The teen was full of guilt over saying such ugly things. Marlena soothed her and told her to write her mama an apology letter.

As for Nicole, she drowned her sorrows at Small Bar was was soon completely wasted. Thankfully, Eric happened to call and tracked her down to take her home. Once there, Nicole was all over Eric and kissed him.

Stefan and EJ had it out over Gabi. The evidence was clear, Gabi didn’t kill Li, but EJ wasn’t going to do anything about it. Stefan fumed and took a different approach. He ran to Paulina (Jackée Harry) and demanded the Mayor take action — which she did. Paulina called EJ to her office and promptly fired him. He vowed to make her pay.

Steve cornered Ava and demanded to know what she knew about Gil and that little black book…and Clyde’s whereabouts. Steve wanted that man back behind bars. Ava reminded him that if Clyde is caught, they’ll all go down for breaking him out. That didn’t deter Steve, though. He went to the townhouse to update John. They have the book, they have the intel, and now they just have to break the code!
