This week’s episode of The Daily Drama Podcast — brought to you by DailyDrama.com — saw Bradford Anderson and Steve Burton welcome back Eden McCoy (Josslyn Jacks, General Hospital) some five years since their last chat.

What Is Time?

Comparatively, in the grand scheme of things, half a decade is nothing…but for McCoy, who in that time balanced career and college, lost her mother to cancer, and collected a Daytime Emmy Award, it feels as though she’s “lived ten lifetimes.”

The actress will mark nine years of playing her alter-ego this October, and for the first time in a very long time, she’s not busily “Hannah Montana-ing it” i.e. racing from set to volleyball practice to classes to home where she’d bone up on scripts, curriculum, and plays. “I don’t know how I did it [all], marveled McCoy. Luckily, she’s “very happy with where I’m at now.” And, isn’t that all anyone can ask/hope for?

New Brooms Sweeping Clean

In addition to the upheaval in her personal life, McCoy has also been thrown for a loop where the professional is concerned. Though she’s quick to enthuse that GH is a “really exciting place to be” at the moment, she also grants that recent story swerves have taken her by surprise — Josslyn and Dex’s (Evan Hofer) parting of ways in particular.

Of that development, McCoy seemingly spoke for the fans when she decreed that it came “so out of nowhere” and didn’t exactly seem from the “most logical reason in the world.”

Pitch Perfect

As for what McCoy would like to see in store for Josslyn, what about the arc where she’s forced to see things from Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) mercenary perspective? “Either I have to kill someone to do something, or I accidentally kill someone and they have to cover it up and then I get it. Like ‘ooooooooh.'”
