Family was the theme of Tuesday’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful. Douglas Forrester graced the screen with his adorable presence and has a wish for mommy Hope. Meanwhile, Katie Logan played mediator between her sisters Brooke and Donna. Here’s a recap of the Sept. 19, 2023 show.
Douglas Wants To Be a Family With Hope and Thomas
Hope and Thomas are at Forrester Creations discussing the outstanding numbers for Hope for the Future. Thomas says with the new Paris deal Carter signed, the line will continue to be a success. Hope says it’s all because of Thomas’ brilliant designs. She then asks Thomas about the fashion battle between Eric and Ridge. Thomas admits he confused by it. They already have a couture line and Hope for the Future, so why would Eric want to change things.
The couple is going over Thomas’ latest sketch and almost kiss when Hope hands him a pencil. But Douglas comes in, interrupting the moment. Hope is surprised to see Douglas because she wasn’t supposed to pick him up until later. Douglas says he has something important to discuss with Hope, and Thomas steps out to give them privacy. Once alone, Douglas says he’s worried about Hope being sad ever since Liam left. Hope admits she has been sad, but says sometimes things don’t work out. Douglas confesses he misses being a family with Beth, and suggests maybe they can be a family with Thomas. Hope is shocked by Douglas’ declaration and promises Thomas didn’t put him up to it. He knows his dad did bad stuff in the past, but wonders if Hope can forgive him. Hope admits Thomas has changed for the better and she’s proud of him, but she doesn’t know if they can be a family.
Thomas returns as Hope is finishing her conversation with Douglas. The boy says he believes Thomas can make Hope happy and wishes they can be a family. Hope hugs Douglas as she gazes up at Thomas.
Brooke and Donna Disagree Over the Fashion Battle
At the Forrester mansion, Brooke marvels at RJ’s sketches. She knew he always had talent, but she’s concerned about his involvement in the fashion battle. Their conversation is interrupted by Katie and Donna. Katie says as the head of the PR department she should’ve been informed of the fashion show. Talk then turns to Ridge trying to push Eric out of the company. Brooke defends Ridge’s actions and Donna and RJ stick up for Eric.
After RJ leaves, the sisters talk. Katie can’t believe Ridge attitude toward Eric. Brooke again defends Ridge and says he’s the head of the couture line and CEO so he makes the decisions. Donna jumps in to remind Brooke about Eric’s legacy not only with the company but with the fashion industry. Brooke admits Eric is a talented designer, but the only thing people will remember is his last act. Donna realizes that Brooke thinks Eric can’t win the competition.
Ridge Asks RJ An Important Question
Carter and Ridge are at the office discussing the competition. Ridge is confident he’ll win since he’s been inspired since looking through the keyhole. Carter says one can never rule out Eric, then asks how Ridge feels about RJ working with him. Ridge confessed he always thought he and RJ would work together, and they will in the future.
Later Thomas and Ridge are discussing the fashion show when RJ arrives. Thomas congratulates his brother on becoming a designer. RJ thanks him then starts gushing about Eric. When Thomas expresses concerns about Eric’s designs, RJ reminds them that Eric is the heart and soul of the company.
After Thomas leaves, Ridge and RJ talk. Ridge says RJ turned down his offer of designing for Forrester, but all of a sudden he’s working with Eric. When Ridge asks what changed, RJ flashes back to Eric revealing he has arthritis. RJ replies he wants to be there for Eric and help him. RJ tells Ridge he loves him and the two hug.
