Way back in April, the official Days of our Lives Instagram page trumpeted that its cast was growing by two — Cherie Jimenez and Al Calderon. But while Jimenez has been in the thick of the action for quite some time now, Calderon, and his alter-ego, have been conspicuously absent.

Al Calderon’s First DAYS Appearance

Fear not fans! Per Soap Opera News, the primetime TV veteran is scheduled to make his debut on Monday, October 28th. Though details of his character are being played close to the vest — “Soap Twitter” has speculated everything from a recast Sonny Kiriakis (last played by Zach Tinker) to Dario Hernandez #3 — the recent press release for Day of DAYS has Calderon listed as one Javi Hernandez — perhaps a cousin of the already established Hernandez brood?

Whatever the case, DAYS devotees will be finding out sooner rather than later. In the meantime, Calderon can be seen in an episode of Ryan Murphey’s Grotesquerie (starring General Hospital alum Nicholas Alexander Chavez). His other credits include Minx,The Have and Have Nots, The Resident, The Walking Dead: The World Beyond, and Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.
