In addition to her starring roles on Days of our Lives, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, and Our House, Deidre Hall’s (Marlena Evans) resume includes stints on Emergency!, The Young and the Restless, Murder, She Wrote, Wiseguy, Drop Dead Diva, and two Hallmark flicks. Later this summer, the beloved actress will be adding another credit: guest star on HBO Max’s Hacks — and alongside a sci-fi icon no less! Soap Hub was the first to report.
Deidre Hall Moonlighting On Hacks
This past weekend, while Hall sat beside former costar Judy Strangis (Dyna Girl) fielding questions about their time spent dispensing justice by installment on The Krofft Supershow, a fan in the crowd asked about Hall’s rumored appearance on the Jean Smart-fronted comedy.
“I got a call because the (Hacks) producer/writer’s mother is a big fan,” explained the honey-haired actress. “I was invited to come and do the show…It was great. I did scenes with Christopher [Lloyd, of Back to the Future fame]…it was such great fun sitting around with him.”
Also rewarding was the change of pace when it came to filming the primetime program. “We shoot one and a quarter shows a day [at DAYS],” relayed Hall. “It’s rapid fire. We go so fast. So, to do Hacks was to spend time in a lovely motorhome, with fabulous food everywhere, and the entire day to do a couple of scenes. It was great fun.”
Created by Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs, and Jen Statsky, Hacks concerns the fraught, pseudo-parasitic relationship between Smart’s alter-ego, legendary Las Vegas comedian Deborah Vance, and struggling comedy-writer Ava Daniels.
No word yet on when Deidre Hall’s appearance will air. Hacks season 3 is scheduled to premiere on HBO Max on May 2, 20024.
