Days of our Lives is all about drama, all thanks to Head Writer Ron Carlivati. The show is finally previewing scripts from after the Writer’s Strike and his stories are back on the screen. And, he promises there is much more action to come!
Ron Carlivati Speaks Out
In a recent interview with TVInsider, Ron Carlivati talked about getting the show back on an exciting foot. He touted the temporary writers for carrying the torch but now that he’s back in the driver’s seat, he plans to right any wrongs and take the show to new heights. Jumping back in isn’t easy but he’s excited to see his storylines play out and watch how fans react to all the twists and turns.
Ron Carlivati particularly touched on some of the hottest stories going on right now, including Maggie’s fake-out wedding, Sloan getting what’s coming to her, and Gabi’s homecoming. The show is definitely heating up and it sounds like the writing team is moving things forward full steam ahead!
“There’s Maggie and Konstantin’s wedding and we’re on the train to outing Theresa.” He told the publication. “There’s the Sloan/Nicole confrontation, so look for that, and then you’re on the path to Eric finding out it’s his baby. Does it come out that EJ knew about it or not? What will happen there? The [replacement writers] did start solving the Li Shin murder and got the ball rolling on Gabi getting out of prison, which was our plan anyway. I was able to pick up the story, so, look for some twists and turns and a new Gabi getting out of jail to shake things up, which I think will be really fun.”
In addition to all the action, expect a whole load of tears later on this year. Ron Carlivati is pulling out some tissue-worthy material in November when the show not only airs its 15,000th episode but makes it extra special by honoring the late Bill Hayes (Doug Williams) in the process.
“So that was one of the first big things that we tackled when we got back. People are aware that Bill Hayes passed away [in January 2024] and that ultimately, we would write Doug Williams’ passing into the show and I decided to center our 15,000th episode around that. We worked hard to honor Bill and Doug and also use it as a way to celebrate the show and celebrate this milestone. I think it’s what Bill would have wanted. I know it’s what Susan [Seaforth Hayes] wanted. So, it is a way to honor this one actor and this character but make it feel bigger because we brought back a lot of people to honor Doug.”
Ron knows the show is nothing without the fans and sent out a special shoutout to all the viewers who have remained dedicated to the sudser. “I just want to thank fans in general for sticking with the show after so many years and especially with the move to Peacock.”
