Alright, my fellow Salemites, grab your popcorn and prepare for emotional whiplash! This week on Days of Our Lives, we’re not just getting drama; we’re getting the kind of gut-wrenching, jaw-dropping, “I can’t believe they went there” moments that only our beloved DOOL can deliver. From desperate mothers on the run to master manipulators back from the dead, April 20-24 is going to be a rollercoaster ride you won’t want to miss!
Let’s dive right into the heart of the matter: Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) is still holding onto baby Rachel Black, convinced she’s her own Mackenzie. My heart aches for Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf), who are living every parent’s worst nightmare. This week, Sarah’s desperation reaches new heights, and trust me, it’s going to test everyone’s limits, especially poor Xander Cook (Paul Telfer), who is caught squarely between the woman he loves and his crumbling conscience. Will he finally crack under the pressure?
Sarah Horton’s Desperate Flight: A Mother’s Love or a Dangerous Obsession?
Oh, Sarah. Sweet, usually sensible Sarah. What has grief done to our beloved Horton? After losing her own baby, Mackenzie, and the devastating reveal that the child she’d been raising was actually Kristen and Brady’s daughter, Rachel, Sarah completely spiraled. Now, she’s on the run, clutching baby Rachel like a lifeline, believing she’s protecting her own child. It’s a tragic echo of her mother Maggie Horton Kiriakis’s (Suzanne Rogers) own struggles with loss and guilt – remember Maggie’s heartbreaking battle after Daniel Jonas’s death, or even the decades-ago pain of losing Mickey Horton as a baby? The Hortons carry a heavy burden of sorrow, and Sarah is no exception.
Meanwhile, Kristen DiMera is absolutely beside herself. As a long-time fan, I’ve seen Kristen do some truly heinous things, but her journey to motherhood with Brady changed her. To have her baby ripped away, not once but twice (remember the brief baby swap with Theresa Donovan’s son, Tate, years ago?), is a cruelty even Kristen doesn’t deserve. My prediction? Kristen’s maternal instincts, combined with her infamous DiMera temper, are going to explode this week. She will find her daughter, and anyone standing in her way, even Xander, will feel her wrath. Speaking of Xander, bless his Kiriakis-loving heart. He’s trying to do the right thing for Sarah, but his loyalty is severely misplaced. He’s always wanted to be a better man for Sarah, but this is proving to be his biggest moral test yet. Will he finally choose redemption over complicity?
Orpheus Returns: A Ghost from Salem’s Past Haunts “Cin”
Just when you thought Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) could catch a break and actually plan their wedding without a serial killer or cult leader getting in the way, Orpheus (George DelHoyo) slithers back into Salem! This man is pure evil, a classic supervillain who terrorized Salem back in the 80s, making Bo and Hope Brady’s (Peter Reckell, Kristian Alfonso) lives a living hell, and even causing trouble for Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) and Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols). He’s not just a bad guy; he’s a legendary bad guy, and his return means nothing but chaos.
This week, Orpheus continues to play his dangerous game, holding little David Ridgeway hostage, with his own son, Evan Frears (Brock Kelly), in tow. Poor Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) is doing everything he can to rescue David, but Orpheus is always ten steps ahead. The stakes are incredibly high, and it’s clear Orpheus isn’t just interested in David; he wants to settle old scores and wreak havoc on Salem’s most prominent families. My biggest fear? He’s going to target Ciara directly, knowing her deep ties to Bo and Hope. Ben will have to tap into every ounce of strength and self-control he’s gained to protect the woman he loves. Their ‘Cin’ connection has survived so much, but Orpheus is a different beast entirely. Can they overcome this blast from the past?
Abigail’s Nightmare: Who’s Playing with Her Mind?
My heart goes out to Abigail DiMera (Kate Mansi). Our sweet Abby has been through so much, and now she’s battling hallucinations and paranoia, seemingly losing her grip on reality. This isn’t her first dance with mental anguish – remember her multiple personality disorder, Gabby, which caused so much heartache and confusion? The DiMera mansion has always been a hotbed of dark secrets and mind games, often orchestrated by Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) or even Stefano himself (Joseph Mascolo). Now, it seems someone is actively poisoning her, literally and figuratively.
Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) is desperately trying to help his wife, but the situation is spiraling. Who could be behind this cruel manipulation? Well, a true DOOL fan knows that when a DiMera is suffering, the first person to suspect is usually another DiMera, or someone with a deep-seated grudge against the family. My money is on Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus). She’s always had a vendetta against Abigail and Chad, especially after Stefan DiMera’s (Brandon Barash) death and her relentless quest for power within DiMera Enterprises. Gabi is cunning, ruthless, and perfectly capable of such a heinous plot. Could she be trying to drive Abigail insane to get her out of the way for good? We’ve seen her pull similar stunts before! Chad needs to trust his instincts and protect his family before Abigail is lost to her own mind forever.
This week on Days of Our Lives is going to be explosive, emotional, and utterly unforgettable. From the depths of a mother’s despair to the terror of a returning villain and the torment of a beloved heroine, Salem is pulling out all the stops. I wouldn’t have it any other way!
