Tanner Novlan’s New Role: Is Finn About To Vanish From B&B?!
Oh, my darlings, the Daily Drama office is absolutely buzzing today, and not just with the usual Forrester Creations gossip! The news has hit like a ton of bricks made of diamonds: our beloved Tanner Novlan, who brings the dashing Dr. John ‘Finn’ Finnegan to life on The Bold and the Beautiful, has landed a brand-new movie role! Now, as a fan who’s been glued to B&B since day one – yes, I remember when Ridge was still wearing those iconic 80s shoulder pads – my first thought wasn’t ‘congratulations,’ but rather a panicked, ‘What does this mean for Finn?!’ And more importantly, what does this mean for Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and the stability of ‘Sinn’?
Source reports confirm that Tanner Novlan is trading his doctor scrubs for a cowboy hat, stepping into the shoes of a reality TV star in his latest project. While we are absolutely thrilled for Tanner – he deserves all the success in the world – the veteran B&B fan in me immediately hears alarm bells ringing. When a soap star takes on a major outside project, it often spells trouble for their character. Will Finn be written off? Will he go missing? Or is this just a cleverly timed hiatus for our favorite good doctor?
From St. Luke’s to the Silver Screen: Tanner Novlan’s Big Break
Let’s take a moment to celebrate Tanner Novlan’s achievement, even as we fret about Finn! He’s set to star in a new film where he’ll portray a reality TV personality, a significant departure from the steady, heroic doctor we know and love on B&B. It’s a testament to his talent that he’s branching out, and we’ve always known Tanner was destined for big things. He brings such depth and gravitas to Finn, making him a character we truly root for – a rare feat in the often-chaotic world of Forrester and Logan drama!
The Ghost of Finn’s Past: B&B’s History with Vanishing Acts
Now, let’s talk B&B history, because this isn’t the first time Finn has faced a disappearance, is it? We all remember the horror when Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) seemingly shot him dead! Oh, the tears we cried! The angst Steffy endured! Only for him to miraculously return from the dead, thanks to Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) and some truly creative medical care. B&B has a long, storied history of characters vanishing and reappearing – think Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen, Hunter Tylo) and her many ‘deaths,’ or Sheila herself, who can escape from anything! So, the idea of Finn being ‘missing’ or ‘gone’ again, even temporarily, sends shivers down my spine. Steffy has been through enough, hasn’t she?
Finn is the rock Steffy needs. After years of Liam Spencer’s (Scott Clifton) waffling and the constant drama, Finn provided her with stability, true love, and a family. He’s the calm in her storm, the hero who always puts her first (unless his birth mother Sheila is involved, but we won’t go there right now!). To lose him again, even for a short time, would be devastating for Steffy and us loyal ‘Sinn’ fans.
What Does This Mean for Steffy and “Sinn”? The Predictions Are Flying!
This is where my fan brain really starts to churn! Here are my top predictions for how The Bold and the Beautiful might handle Tanner Novlan’s new venture:
Prediction 1: Finn Goes Missing (Again!)
This is the most dramatic, soap-opera-esque option, and let’s be honest, B&B loves drama! Imagine Finn suddenly called away for a ‘medical conference’ that turns into something sinister. Or perhaps a new villain emerges, or even an old one? While Sheila is currently behind bars, we all know that’s never a permanent state for our favorite super-villain. Could she orchestrate something from jail? A missing Finn would open the door for so many classic B&B tropes: Steffy’s despair, Liam’s inevitable hovering, Hope Logan’s (Annika Noelle) internal conflict, and maybe even a new love interest for Steffy (perish the thought!). But seriously, the emotional fallout for Steffy, who has already mourned him once, would be immense.
Prediction 2: A Temporary Absence
This is probably the most likely and least heart-wrenching scenario. Finn could simply be written off-screen for a few weeks or months. Maybe he’s called away on a humanitarian mission, or a family emergency with Li. This would allow Tanner to film his movie without completely disrupting ‘Sinn’ or traumatizing Steffy. B&B is usually quite good at accommodating its stars’ outside projects with these temporary leaves. It would still leave Steffy vulnerable, but at least we’d know our handsome doctor is coming back!
Prediction 3: Recast? No Way!
While recasts are a staple of daytime television – how many Ridge Forresters have we seen?! – I truly hope this isn’t an option for Finn. Tanner Novlan has made Finn his own, and ‘Sinn’ has become one of B&B’s most popular pairings. A recast right now would be a huge blow to the fans and the chemistry on screen. Let’s just say this isn’t a prediction I want to come true!
Prediction 4: No Major Impact
Could it be that Tanner Novlan is filming his movie during B&B’s hiatus or on a schedule that doesn’t significantly impact his airtime? Soaps are masters of creative scheduling. Perhaps we’ll see slightly less of Finn for a bit, but he won’t disappear entirely. This would be the ideal outcome for us ‘Sinn’ shippers, allowing Tanner to explore new roles while keeping our favorite doctor right where he belongs – by Steffy’s side!
Our Hearts Are With Steffy! What Do YOU Think, B&B Fans?
Whatever the writers decide, our hearts are with Steffy Forrester! She deserves happiness, and Finn is a huge part of that. Let’s hope that this new venture for Tanner Novlan only brings him more success and doesn’t mean a long-term absence for our beloved Dr. Finnegan. What are your predictions, my fellow B&B fanatics? How do you think the show will handle Tanner Novlan’s new movie role? Will Finn vanish, or will ‘Sinn’ remain strong?
