General Hospital Recap: Angst-Ridden Anna And Valentin Have It Out

Today’s General Hospital recap for December 8, 2023, details another tear-filled day for the star-crossed pair known as Vanna.

Tears For Vanna

Anna (Finola Hughes) stopped by Valentin’s (James Patrick Stuart) place to tell him some good news. He didn’t look happy with her, but was relieved to know there was proof that Charlotte wasn’t an arsonist. Valentin still thought his teenage daughter might have been lying.

Valentin was relieved when he learned of Anna’s  DNA evidence and wondered why he didn’t believe his own child. When he asked who the DNA belonged to, Anna refused to tell him. They weren’t together anymore and she didn’t have to share things she knew. She also didn’t trust him.

Anna explained that Valentin lied to her and that led to her shooting Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez). Valentin took full responsibility but also knew that Anna was gunning for someone and Charlotte got in the way. That meant Anna also withheld information from him.

As Anna went to leave, Valentin confessed that he feared she would end their relationship if she knew the truth about Charlotte. Anna told him he didn’t even give her a chance to decide. Anna pointed out it was too late for them, but not too late to help Charlotte.

Valentin defended his daughter, saying she was only being influenced by Victor’s (Charles Shaughnessy) letter. Anna felt he was making excuses for Charlotte, therefore enabling her. Valentin wouldn’t back down and insisted that Charlotte thought she was protecting her father from a master spy.

Anna rightfully told him that his daughter came up with her stalking and vandalism methods all on her own, so he couldn’t blame Victor for everything. As Valentin learned that Charlotte needed time to heal, so Anna warned him that he had to stop making excuses for her.

Valentin had one final point. Victor convinced Charlotte that Anna was dangerous, and then Anna shot her. Therefore, Charlotte felt that Victor was right.

Molly And Kristina Are Having A Baby

Molly (Kristen Vaganos) was ready to knock on Kristina’s (Kate Mansi) door to tell her she accepted her offer to be a surrogate, but TJ (Tajh Bellow) just wanted to make sure she wasn’t having second thoughts. This was a big step but Molly thought this was the right move.

When Molly told Kristina she needed a favor that would dominate her life for nine months, Kristina was overjoyed and told her sister ‘yes’ right aw

ay. Like TJ, Kristina also wanted to make sure that Molly was sure and she indeed was.

Molly also made sure to apologize for how she treated her sister when she first offered to be their surrogate. Kristina didn’t think anything of it and was sorry for not considering how Molly felt after learning she couldn’t have children.

Keeping Up With The Quartermaines

Violet (Jophielle Love) decorated for Christmas with the most imperfect tree she could find. Finn (Michael Easton) and Liz (Rebecca Herbst) were amused but didn’t have time to dwell on it because Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase (Josh Swickard) stopped by with some news. They were getting married. Violet was so happy she even sang them a song.

Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) and Lois (Rena Sofer) were also ready to take on decorating duties in the Quartermaine mansion. Lois told Olivia all about the old days and how Lila would have had Reginald decorate by December 1. Lois certainly had fond memories of when she lived there in the 90s.

Lois took Olivia to task for not having everything ready for the season, but Olivia decided years ago she would do things Monica’s way. Since Monica was at a conference this year, Lois convinced her to go all out without Monica’s approval.

Tracy (Jane Elliot) prepared for her descent into Port Charles International Airport by looking at photos of herself and Luke through the years. She had to say goodbye to him once again while in Amsterdam, so she also had to hide her tears behind sunglasses and a hat.

However, she had her Tracy tough act back in full force when she arrived home, appalled at all the festive decor.
