The Young and the Restless recap for December 8, 2023, details an Abbott revelation and a romantic evening for two.
Tucker’s Real Plan
Tucker (Trevor St. John) and Mamie (Veronica Redd) engaged in a game of wits at the GCAC. He insisted he was a better man now but Mamie didn’t buy it because he looked like a man with revenge on his mind. As he spoke about creating something good in the world, Ashley (Eileen Davidson) happened by and heard the whole thing.
Mamie wasn’t buying with Tucker was selling, so she left the table so Ashley could sit down and ask Tucker what he was up to this time. He insisted he was trying to find a sense of purpose but also wanted to buy her share of their perfume company. No strings attached.
Tucker was surprised when Ashley expressed interest in the company again. He thought she’d abandoned the idea, but she insisted she could make a go of it as part of Jabot.
Jill Teams Up With The Abbotts
Jill (Jess Walton) scoffed at the idea of working with the Abbotts to bring down Tucker, even with Jack telling her that they’d be unstoppable. She thought about it and announced she knew exactly what they had to do to hurt Tucker the most.
She had some news for Jack (Peter Bergman), Billy (Jason Thompson), and Diane (Susan Walters). Tucker has been funneling money into the fragrance company he was going to start with Ashley. That meant he didn’t abandon their idea after all. Now Jack knew Tucker wasn’t trying to play mind games with them.
Jack was outraged realizing that Tucker was trying to destroy Jabot from the inside out. They knew he had to be up to something more sinister but now they had to find a way to stop them. When Jill learned of his statutory rape cover-up, she wanted to take it to the press right away, but Jack stopped her.
He wanted to run the idea by Ashley first since half of Tucker’s perfume company belonged to her. In the meantime, Jill volunteered to distract Tucker and gain his trust while they enacted their take-down plan.
When Ashley returned home, she told her family their theory was correct. Jack wanted her to sell her half right away but Ashley wasn’t so sure.
Danny Prepares A Romantic Surprise
Danny (Michael Damian) and Daniel (Michael Graziadei) discussed Lily’s (Christel Khalil) trip to California. The wildfire was contained and Mattie was okay, but Lily would be staying there for a while. At least that meant Danny might be able to have the apartment to himself to make a romantic dinner for Christine (Lauralee Bell).
Chris was touched by all the work Danny put into making Italian food. After they finished their meal, the pair shared a dance and another kiss.
Before dinner, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) tried to make small talk with Chris at Crimson Lights but she wasn’t really interested, telling her old enemy she just wanted a quiet moment alone. Phyllis just wanted to know if the rumor was true — was Chris leaving her role as DA? She also wondered about Chris’s relationship with Danny since she saw them kiss earlier that day.
Christine accused Phyllis of being jealous, but she denied things, of course. She even made sure that Phyllis knew Danny was making her a romantic home-cooked dinner.
A lonely Phyllis tried to get one of her kids to have a drink with her at the jazz lounge, but they were busy. At least Michael (Christian J. Le Blanc) wasn’t, so he sat down and caught up with his BFF. Phyllis poured out her heart to Michael and told him she just wants to find someone who believed in her since her kids did not.
