Recently, Jason gifted Carly the ultimate present by handing her back her half of the General Hospital Metro Court. This wasn’t the first time someone offered Carly her spot on top, but this was the first time she accepted the gift. Laura Wright talks about this pivotal moment for her character.

Thank You, Jason!

Laura Wright sat down with Soap Opera Digest to discuss the emotional scenes. “She was shocked. She didn’t expect it. She tries to say no, and then he asks her, ‘Do you think you would have lost the hotel if I were here?’ He won’t take no for an answer,” she said of the moment Jason produced the paperwork. This was a charged moment for Carly and all her dreams were coming true.

But why Jason? Why didn’t Carly take it from someone else? Wright has the answer to that burning question, too. “You know, when Sonny wanted [to buy the hotel back for Carly], it was out of guilt because he destroyed their family. And she’d never take it from Nina, the woman who took her husband. And then Michael, she didn’t want him to be involved in any way in case it came back to bite them with the SEC. And she wasn’t going to let Ned and Olivia gift it to her because she’s not going take that from her friend. But Jason’s family in a whole different way.”

Is Carly capable of doing it all and running both Bobbie’s and Metro Court at the same time? “I think she absolutely can,” rooted Wright. And, we quite agree. If anyone can take on a challenge, it’s definitely Carly!
