Camryn Grimes grew up on The Young and the Restless and when her character Cassie died, she was sure it was over. Getting the call to take on the role of Mariah was a dream come true and she was happy to reconnect with her soapy roots.

Deep Bonds

Recently, Soap Opera Digest touched base with the actress to talk about her close connections to the cast. “I had very close relationships with Sharon [Case, Sharon], Josh [Morrow, Nick], and Mel [Thomas Scott, Nikki] when I was a little girl and then coming back as an adult brought our relationships to a different level,” she told the publication. Grimes went on to also mention her friendships with Bryton James (Devon), Mishael Morgan (Hilary/Amanda), and Brytni Sarpy (Elena).

Her biggest thrill came when her real-life best friend was brought back to the show, too. Hayley Erin once played the role of Abby back in the day and jumped at the chance to take on the part of Claire. “She was living in Ireland when she told me, ‘I have a test for Y&R. Two weeks later, she booked the job, and two weeks after that, we were hanging out at the pool with her babies! It was so surreal.”
