Today’s The Young and the Restless recap for November 2, 2023, has Christine reflecting on her life to celebrate 40 years of Lauralee Bell in the role.
Christine Can’t Forgive Phyllis
Christine (Lauralee Bell) sat in the park remembering the fact that he marriage was over. She also thought about Danny (Michael Damian) so it was a surprise when Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) happened by and tried to be nice to her. It was an innocent encounter but Christine was immediately suspicious. When Phyllis offered condolences at the end of Chris’ marriage, Chris immediately told her that was none of her business.
The subject of Danny soon came up, so Phyllis point blank asked if Chris was planning on rekindling things with Danny. Chris didn’t want to have that conversation with her and told Phyllis to focus on her own miserable life before walking away.
Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman) soon approached Phyllis and she told her what happened. Chris would always think of her as the woman who stole her first husband. She told Phyllis to forget about Christine and concentrate on spending time with Daniel and Summer.
Chris Reunites With Nina
Chris’s next stop was Crimson Lights where she had lunch with Nina (Tricia Cast) and they reminisced about their friendship, starting with how Christine taught Nina to be a proper lady. Chris told her that she wanted the best for Paul (Doug Davidson) but she knew she needed to move on.
Nina was excited to hear that Danny was staying in town and hoped that might spark something between him and Christine. We were then treated to flashbacks of Chris and Danny’s love story, right down to when she was still known as Cricket.
They also got to talking with Lauren as Chris remembered the trouble she had with Lauren’s husband Michael (Christian J. Le Blanc) at the start of her law career. Christine admitted she was envious that Lauren and Nina had careers and children when she was childless. She wondered if she made a mistake by putting her career ahead of a family.
When the subject turned to Danny again, Christine admitted that she felt something for him, but getting involved with him would bring Phyllis back into her life and she didn’t want that complication.
A Future With Danny?
At the jazz lounge, Daniel (Michael Graziadei) walked in on Danny playing piano and was impressed with what he heard. They also talked about Christine and Paul. Danny was surprised by how affected he was by the news. Knowing Chris was free made him remember their life together, including what could have been and what could still be.
Too bad Phyllis walked in and interrupted the chat. She sat right down with her ex-husband and son to make sure Danny remembered that she was still around. Daniel knew that Phyllis was being annoying, so he paid the bill and told his mom that they needed to go to work.
That’s when Christine walked in, so Danny headed back to the piano and played a song just for her. Chris looked on and wondered what could still be after all these years.
