Racism in the soap world is almost always prevalent. So much so, just this week General Hospital put out a statement defending their cast, and now, The Young and the Restless icon Eric Braeden took a fan to talk in defense of his own colleagues.
Eric Braeden Stands Up Against Hate
While scrolling through X (formerly Twitter), it seems Eric Braeden came across a tweet thread that got him heated. It all started with a viewer named Kerry tweeting out a disgustingly racist post calling the show’s Winters family “slaves.” Other fans took immediate issue and started tagging the show to get their attention and hit the block button.
Well, the tweets certainly got Eric Braeden’s attention! And, he sounded off by sending out a response that could only come from The Great Victor Newman actor. “These three actors are dear colleagues of mine; they have more class than you LOW LIFE can imagine! We are going to block your racist ass, you got that, bitch??!!”
He sure told her! And, as it turns out, Kerry was already blocked by General Hospital for the same level of hate she was slinging at their cast. Hopefully, Y&R will take action and make sure to keep their cast safe from online hate.
