Today’s The Young and the Restless recap for December 28, 2023, details quite a few kisses on New Year’s Eve in GC.
Genoa City Athletic Club Happenings
Ashley (Eileen Davidson) interrupted Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and Tucker’s (Trevor St. John) talk at the GCAC bar. She heard Tucker talking about leaving Genoa City, so Ashley accused him of running away. As the pair sparred, Phyllis made her way to the dining room where she joined her old pals Michael (Christian Le Blanc) and Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman).
They tried to invite her to their little wedding, but Phyllis announced her intention of sleeping through the clock striking midnight. She hoped for a better year ahead. A drunk Phyllis then went on to lament her situation with Danny (Michael Damian), wondering why he couldn’t see that Christine (Lauralee Bell) wasn’t right for him.
Right on cue, Christine and Danny happened by and Chris couldn’t wait to show off the bracelet Danny got her for Christmas.
Back at the bar, Ashley tried to convince Tucker to stay for Dominic’s sake. Perhaps he could still repair his relationship with Devon (Bryton James). An exasperated Tucker demanded that she stop pushing, pointing out that leaking his scandal destroyed his relationship with his son.
As Tucker became angry, Ashley brought up their fight in Paris in which he tossed a chair and smashed wine glasses. Oddly enough, Tucker seemed to have no idea what Ashley was even talking about.
He remembered yelling but not becoming violent. He tipped over a wine glass by accident and maybe knocked over a chair, but the incident was nothing like Ashley described, at least according to Tucker.
After Ashley left, Tucker made his way to the dining room where he made it seem like he and Phyllis had a date for the evening, surprising Chris, Danny, Michael, and Lauren. She even kissed him as part of the show. However, she later ignored Tucker’s text when he asked if they could spend the evening together for real.
Another Wedding At Society
Kevin (Greg Rikaart), Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin), and Gloria (Judith Chapman) started their New Year’s Eve setting up Society for a wedding. Three years ago, we got Sharon (Sharon Case) and Rey’s (Jordi Vilasuso) wedding and now Michael and Lauren would be renewing their vows.
When Michael and Lauren got there, they were thrilled with the flowers and decor. Finally, they renewed their vows in front of close family in a tender and romantic ceremony to remember. Lauren went over their whole life together, raising their children into grown men.
Michael’s vows were just as sweet, telling Lauren the one thing he’s never doubted in the world is their love.
A Romalotti New Year’s Eve
Danny and Christine were thrilled to be spending their New Year’s Eve together, but tried to keep Phyllis out of their minds. Chris still had no idea that Danny kissed Phyllis, so she felt hopeful that her life would be happy again.
Daniel (Michael Graziadei) soon came home to tell them he planned to spend the evening alone watching movies and eating junk food. Right on cue, Heather (Vail Bloom) and Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Briant) showed up with the hunk food ready to watch rom-coms with them.
Sure, Daniel planned to spend the night by himself, but welcomed the company. As they sat with beer, popcorn, and TV, it felt like old times when they were a family. They even debated whether Die Hard was a Christmas movie or not. It seemed that Daniel somehow forgot he was supposed to call Lily (Christel Khalil).
At least Lucy brought Lily up, with Heather looking perturbed but trying not to show it. By the end of the evening, both Lucy and Daniel had fallen asleep so Heather took the opportunity to lay down with Daniel and cuddle. Later, they both woke and shared a kiss to start 2024.
