The Young and the Restless spoilers for Monday, July 22nd, tease Phyllis giving Heather a strong dose of reality.

Heather (Vail Bloom) is toying with the idea of taking a flight back to Portugal to be with her daddy. Paul needs her right now and she can’t stand the idea of him being alone. But, of course, that means leaving Daniel (Michael Graziadei) behind – and probably Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Briant), too since the teen wants to stay put. Heather’s heart is being pulled in two directions. Maybe Phyllis can give her some clarity to this dilemma.
Phyllis missed out on too many years with Daniel to just sit back and watch her granddaughter’s mother take off and leave her in the dust. She has some sage advice for her (former but almost current again) daughter-in-law and Heather better listen up. Heather’s life is here and she needs to put her own family first.
Also struggling internally is Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan). Her guilt is eating her away and she can’t take it anymore. Will she throw caution to the wind and spill her sin to Billy (Jason Thompson)? Surely, he’ll understand it was a moment of weakness during a trying time and it didn’t mean anything (except it did, but Chelsea’s not ready for that conversation yet). And, if Billy doesn’t give her a pass, so be it. At least she won’t have secrets hiding in her closet.
Meanwhile, The Young and the Restless hints at some tension rising between Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Jack (Peter Bergman). They have it out over Diane (Susan Walters) not wanting them to be friends anymore. After the night in the hotel, who can blame her (well, Nikki can)? Certainly not Jack. He’s not willing to risk his marriage…even for his oldest and dearest buddy.
