It looks like Wyatt Spencer is officially no more on The Bold and the Beautiful. Bill’s other long-lost adult son bid his father farewell on the January 17, 2024 episode and announced his intention to leave Los Angeles and start life anew somewhere else — and we know where he can go.
Wyatt Still Has Some Life Left In Him
We never understood why Wyatt (Darin Brooks) just faded into the B&B background following the COVID hiatus. He had been a front-burner character for years with lots of story potential. Instead, his romance with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) was wrapped up, he proposed to Felony Flo Fulton (Katrina Bowden), and we barely heard from either one of them again.
Sure, Wyatt would pop up every once in a while as a sounding board for Bill (Don Diamont) and his whining brother Liam (Scott Clifton), but he hasn’t had an actual storyline in over three years. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t still have story potential. However, if B&B won’t use him why can’t he make his way over to Genoa City and Y&R?
Wyatt Has A Built In Y&R Story
Since the last time Wyatt had a storyline it involved Sally Spectra, why can’t his tale pick up where it left off even if it’s in a different city and on a different soap? Sally has grown and changed as a character since she and Wyatt were together and she faked a fatal disease just to keep him.
She’s forged ahead with a legitimate career using her own creativity rather than designing Forrester knockoffs, gained executive experience, and tragically endured the loss of a child. Yes, she is renewing her romance with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and seeing where it leads, but where can it lead at this point except to something stale unless someone new is thrown into the mix.
That someone new could be Wyatt. With his publishing experience, he could be a perfect fit at Newman Media or Chancellor-Winters. He’d find new life in a new city while also running into an old love to spice things up.
It would be the perfect solution to give two popular characters a new lease on life while stirring things up on a whole other soap.
