In this recap of “The Bold and the Beautiful” for October 3, tensions rise at Forrester Creations as Brooke, Ridge, and Taylor navigate personal and professional challenges. Meanwhile, Eric faces health concerns that could impact his career.
Brooke and Taylor’s Uneasy Encounter:
Brooke tells someone on the phone at Forrester Creations that she is eager to see it because she enjoys reading their articles. Following their breakup, Taylor enters and claims that they were unable to complete their yesterday’s conversation. Taylor left, and according to Brooke, who also had plans, “I had to be at home… with Ridge,” she ran out. Taylor ponders whether Brooke is attempting to communicate with her. Although Brooke disputes it, she does not want to argue with her. Regarding Hope and Thomas’ involvement, she believes they agree.
Taylor came looking for Ridge rather than to engage in combat. Upon entering, he claims to have been with his trainer. I thought you were looking a little different, Taylor muses. Taylor explains to Ridge that she has come to give him an update as Brooke makes a face. Katie and Donna examine Eric’s designs while they are at the Forrester mansion. Donna claims that Eric’s life appears to depend on the success of his line. That seems a little over the top, Katie frowns.
Ridge’s Struggles and Confusion:
Ridge expresses his gratitude to Taylor for the update and expresses his delight that she helped Steffy and the kids settle in while she was there in the main office. When Taylor learned about Hope and Thomas yesterday, she admitted that she was quite angry with him. In addition to apologizing, Ridge promises to keep an eye on them. He is not relapsing and has been speaking with a renowned psychiatrist. If something happens that she needs to know about, he will let her know. “OK, we are good,” says Taylor after expressing gratitude. She says, “Er… get back to work,” and then departs, saying she will let Brooke and Ridge handle it.
Ridge informs Brooke in the main office that he called Steffy to inquire about whether or not he should come over but that she advised him to remain there and concentrate on his collection. He laments the rivalry he has with his father because he does not want it and thinks something is wrong with him. Ridge and Brooke talk about Eric’s success in the fashion industry in the main office. Ridge is unable to comprehend what he must now demonstrate. Despite knowing that he is drowning the company, he will not cooperate. I find it confusing.
While looking through fabric samples in the design studio, Eric grows impatient with his trembling hands. He demands Luna send the items to the house immediately after angrily stating that they will not work. RJ assures Eric that Luna will look through the database for his contracts while he goes in search of his rolodex. He receives a document from Carter that he must sign from Luna. He tries but is unsuccessful, barking, “Here take it!” He is Eric Forrester, and he has not signed anything just yet.
After he leaves, RJ assures Luna that wasn’t her fault. He and Donna are the only ones who are aware that his grandfather is compromised. RJ and Luna search through the bin of items that Eric wants to be delivered to the design office. She inquires as to whether his father is aware of his grandfather. As RJ claims, he doesn’t. Why did you tell me, then? she queries. She is a team member, in his opinion, and he finds her to be trustworthy. What is happening with his grandfather, asks Luna.
RJ admits that although he claims it is arthritis, he has a sneaking suspicion it may be something more serious. Even though his grandfather thinks it is his last, he is helping with the collection anyway, despite his hope that it isn’t. He recognizes the deterioration of his health. While listening, Luna assures everyone that she will remain silent. When Eric gets home, he hears Katie inquiring of Donna as to why her husband is so adamant that his career in design is coming to an end.
Sibling Rivalry and Fashion Competition:
Donna is correct, Eric declares, “This is going to be my final collection, and it is going to be on my terms.” He approaches Donna, who takes his hand to cover up the trembling. RJ shares a further secret with Luna in the design studio: he had no desire to work in either the family business or the field of design. He describes how difficult things have been for his grandfather, who does not even like to visit the office. To help him put his ideas on paper, he has been helping.
Luna considers RJ to be a blessing for Eric as a grandson. Even in his sincere social media posts, he says, “You are a really special guy.” Eric informs Katie that Brooke and Ridge believe he ought to vacate the position. Katie would never imply that he ought to hang up his boots. She is jokingly referred to as Eric’s favorite sister among Donna’s siblings. He emphasizes that he is performing this line on his terms. Eric receives Katie’s compliment on his line and acknowledges that she must go. Eric is enquired as to how he is doing by Donna, who advises him to rest his hands. She observes how agitated he appears to be. Eric claims that Luna, the new intern, was involved in an incident at work.
Eric’s Health Concerns:
At home, Eric is concerned that Luna will view him as a monster. He claims that when Donna handed him a pen to sign contracts with, he was unable to do so and yelled, “I feel terrible,” to her. Donna had contracts for him to sign. Assuring him that the doctor will arrive soon, Donna assures him that they will learn more about what is ailing him. It is nothing we can not deal with, agree? In addition to reminding him of all the people who love him, “Especially me,” Donna lists all the things he has accomplished.
They will work through this together, whatever it may be. Kisses are exchanged. As soon as her husband hears a knock at the door, Donna says, “We can do this, okay?” She lets Doctor Colby in and Eric thanks him for his discretion. What is wrong with me, Doctor? Eric exclaims as Donna asks if he can explain to them what is going on.
