In the latest episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, tensions rise as Taylor confronts Hope about her relationship with Thomas, while Deacon takes a bold step in his pursuit of Sheila’s love. Here’s a recap of the drama that unfolded on Monday, October 2, 2023.
Brooke and Ridge Share the News with Taylor
Hope discovered in the main office that Brooke and Ridge had already told Taylor about her and Thomas. For “whatever this is, this relationship with Thomas,” Brooke swears she will not let anyone hold her responsible. Taylor is worried about her son and his relationship with Hope, but Ridge does not think she is trying to point the finger at anyone in particular. In order to clear Thomas of any wrongdoing, Brooke has admitted that she will label Hope as the aggressor. She was obviously not pleased to see them together, according to Hope. None of us are pleased about that, Ridge says to Honey.
Taylor tries to lay the blame on Hope, but Brooke stops him, saying, “Like you are trying to lead Thomas on or something.” Hope informs Ridge and Brooke that Taylor discovered the existence of her and Thomas because she inadvertently peeked in on them. Ridge inquiries Hope if she is spying on his son in Forrester’s main office. Intervening is Brooke. Hope insists that they are on the same page because they are two consenting adults who are raising the same child. When there are no expectations and someone prioritizes her needs, she enjoys being with them.
Thomas and Taylor’s Heart-to-Heart
Thomas politely informs his mother that he has the right to decide what happens in his own life while they are in the design studio. When asked if she is pursuing him because he is a Forrester, Taylor responds that Hope is her mother’s daughter. Thomas quips that there is no genetic basis for who you are attracted to. Taylor was not discussing genetics; rather, she was discussing power, saying that “Brooke targeted Ridge from the moment she met him.” Thomas is confident that Hope is not pursuing him. You seem to be certain about that, Taylor muses. Thomas complains, “That is not going anywhere. He claims that he has evolved.
According to Taylor, his transformation is ongoing. It seems as though Thomas’ life is coming together at last. Taylor queries whether this is so because Hope is involved. Thomas declares, “I do love her, Mom.” Taylor is aware of this, and she is also aware of the suffering that his love for her caused. Does Hope have the same opinion of you that you have of her, she queries. Because she broke up with Liam, Thomas thinks they will eventually become a couple. Mom, I am content. Simply be joyful for me, please. In an anxious expression, Taylor hugs Thomas.
Thomas in the design office appreciates Taylor checking in on him and wishes she could do it more, but he is aware that Steffy, Kelly, and Hayes need her at this time. He receives another hug from her before departing. Taylor is questioned by Hope about Thomas’ whereabouts. A conference call for their line, according to Taylor, was held. I have a lot on my plate right now, I guess she forgot to mention, Hope speculates.
Taylor questions whether she has also forgotten about her difficult relationship with her son. “You and Hope are Thomas’s true love. You already know that, but do you also realize that he looks forward to a future with you? She is uncertain about whether she will commit to him or if this is just a late-blooming rebellious phase. Please let him know if she isn’t. If you do not want to live with him, it would not be fair for him to assume that you will.
Hope’s Uncertainty and Taylor’s Concern
Taylor is assured by Hope that she recognizes her worries. Taylor asks Hope if she is just waiting to see if Steffy and Finn stay together because “Thomas deserves to know where he stands,” knowing that Hope thinks her marriage ended in part as a result of Liam’s feelings for Steffy. Thomas, according to Hope, is aware of his position. She is currently determining her identity and her goals. Little eye-rolling occurs from Taylor. Hope freely acknowledges her insecurities about Liam and Steffy, but those feelings were not the cause of her marriage’s breakdown.
Although she would like Taylor to understand, she does find Liam’s love for two different women to be problematic. She is currently content to be with a man who is completely focused on me. With regard to expectations, she has been very clear in her communication with Thomas. She would be mistaken if she thought she was encouraging him. “Perhaps you are right if you want to say that I remind you of my mother.” Taylor welcomes Brooke inside and informs her that Hope believes she might be evolving into a younger version of herself.
Deacon’s Proposal to Sheila
“Marry me,” Deacon says to Sheila while they are dining at Il Giardino. He is reminded by Sheila of their prior understanding not to see one another. Deacon was not really interested in that, and he does not believe she is either. Although impulsive, the proposal is sincere; however, Deacon is not pleased that Sheila declined his offer. She mentions that he might forfeit Hope, his grandchildren, and his restaurant.
Deacon needs her by his side more than he needs protection. I am terrible, Deacon, Sheila murmurs. I am bad at my core. Deacon notices an alternative reality. Do we have our eyes closed together, Sheila wonders. She can now do what Deacon did because he changed the situation, she says. You can accomplish your goals, and it all begins with the word “yes.” Deacon needs Sheila to respond “Yes.” “Then you let me take that risk,” replies Deacon. He feels that he has finally found his match after all these years. One who is prepared to defend him despite his flaws despite knowing them. He pledges to defend her equally and to remain in love with her until his passing. What if you lose her, Sheila queries? Deacon does not want to, but damned if he is going to live without Sheila for the rest of his days. He asks her to respond “Yes” once more. Sheila says, “I love you,” while sobbing uncontrollably. While celebrating, they share a passionate kiss.
