Today’s Days of Our Lives recap for December 20, 2023, details Theresa’s troubles, Maggie’s naivety, and Jada’s big decision.
Andrew Knows All…Kinda
Theresa (Emily O’Brien) was thrilled when Andrew (Colton Little) found her sitting on a park bench, but wasn’t as thrilled when she finally learned why he was there. When John (Drake Hogestyn) and Steve (Stephen Nichols) sent Shane (Charles Shaughnessy) the surveillance photos from the bank showing who kidnapped Victoria, he passed the case on to Andrew.
Andrew was able to make out who the hooded blonde figure was, so Theresa knew the jig was up. Her big brother had discovered she had taken Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and Xander’s (Paul Telfer) baby (for just a few minutes).
Theresa was forced to tell Andrew some of the truth, but not all of the truth. She didn’t bother mentioning the Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) and Xander paternity switch nor about Konstantin trying to get Maggie’s money. Instead, she painted Konstantin (John Kapelos) as a sweet old man trying to impress Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) by rescuing her granddaughter from an alleged kidnapper.
Somehow, she managed to talk Andrew into keeping her secret — as long as she stayed away from Konstantin and promised to behave. He’d be watching her from afar and would never cover for her again.
Konstantin Fools Maggie Again
Maggie and Sarah sat down in the Square to talk about Maggie’s inability to get into the Christmas spirit. She was missing Victor (John Aniston) terribly and this would be her first holiday without him. Soon, Konstantin appeared just as expected. He heard the entire conversation and thought he had his in once again.
He listened in as Maggie told Sarah it was time for Konstantin to go because he put her family in danger. For some reason, Sarah even found herself defending Konstantin. She wanted Maggie to be happy and knew her mother liked all those (fake) old Victor stories.
Once Maggie was alone, Alex came along and brought up business. Maggie had to be blunt with Victor’s supposed son. She didn’t think Theresa was cut out to run the magazine. She then invited Alex for Christmas, but he worried it would just cause fighting and turned her down.
When Alex walked away, Konstantin came out of hiding to surprise Maggie. He was still in town because Salem was such a magical place at Christmas. He even regaled her with more phony stories about Victor and she ate every word. To nobody’s surprise, Maggie invited them to the Horton Christmas.
There was no love lost between Alex and Xander when they ran into one another outside The Brady Pub. They couldn’t wait to get on each other’s nerves. Xander taunted Alex with the fact that Bella Magazine wasn’t selling and Alex picked fun as Xander trying to be a journalist.
The two men nearly came to blows, especially when Alex pointed out that Victor once hired him as the landscaper. They parted ways so Xander and Sarah could discuss Victoria’s Christmas plans. Xander wanted to bring her to the Kiriakis house, but Sarah wanted her to experience a Horton Christmas.
Jada Makes Up Her Mind
Jada (Elia Cantu) was frustrated that she couldn’t solve the Victoria kidnapping case when she made herself a promise that it would be all cleared up by the end of the year. Rafe (Galen Gering) tried to make her feel better by asking her if she’d decided whether she would move in with him or not.
Too bad she didn’t have the answer that Rafe was looking for. She just wasn’t ready to move in yet. She realized she didn’t know her ex-husband Bobbie (Bobbie??? Not Everett???) well enough before she married him and didn’t want to make the same mistake by moving in with Rafe too quickly.
Jada also explained that when she saw Eric (Greg Vaughan), she once again realized that she plunged into relationships too quickly. Rafe had to be satisfied with no for an answer while hoping she would eventually change her mind. At least she agreed to accept a set of house keys.
