For more than 40 years, Bill Hayes and Kristian Alfonso played father and daughter team Doug Williams and Hope Williams Brady on Days of Our Lives. They might have taken some time away from Salem here and there, but they also remained DAYS mainstays from 1983 on.
Kristian Alfonso’s Beautiful Words For Bill Hayes
After the tragic news of Bill Hayes’ passing broke the night of January 12, Alfonso took to social media to express her grief and pen a beautiful tribute to her onscreen dad.
“You will forever be in my Billy,” she wrote. “Thank u for welcoming me, the girl from Boston with warm open arms on my 1st day & all of the days that followed, for the love &support u always gave me. How completely blessed I was 2 work with u 2know u 2 learn from u. You were a true icon. Love you”
Doug And Hope Remembered
Doug and Hope’s on-screen bond was legendary and a pure pleasure for DAYS fans. Doug was always protective of his princess and definitely didn’t approve when she fell for rebel Bo Brady (Peter Reckell). One of Doug and Hope’s most legendary scenes came when Doug caught Bo and Hope falling into bed together on her 18th birthday. He eventually accepted their love and Bo into the family, leading to years of tender family scenes and plenty of memorable Bo and Hope moments.
It’s been a few years since Hayes and Alfonso shared screen time together as her brief comebacks since 2022 did not include time with Hope’s parents, Doug and Julie. Some fans are already clamoring for Alfonso to make another return when Doug is written off DAYS, presumably later this year.
Days of Our Lives streams weekdays on Peacock starting at 6 AM EST. Remember, you can always find the latest DAYS spoilers, recaps, and news on Facebook at Days of Our Lives Daily. Also, meet fellow fans and talk all things DAYS with our Facebook community group.
