Earlier this week, news came for General Hospital viewers when the network announced their commitment to the show. Days of our Lives fans can rest assured the same goes for the NBC/Peacock sudser!
More To Come!
Soap Hub caught up with network exec Michael Sluchan during last week’s Los Angeles press tour and got the scoop on the future of DAYS. As it stands, the show is on safe footing. It seems the move off cable and onto streaming was a positive and the tried and true fandom adjusted well.
To this end, Sluchan is quoted as saying, “the viewers really did show up, and they moved over to Peacock. [The show] continues to be a top performer, and we’re very much behind DAYS.” He went on to confide, “We have such support from the show — all departments, publicity, marketing, and we have such a great cast. This [move] was a big change for them after 57 years, coming over to this new platform.”
This is great news with the show’s 60th anniversary coming up fast. The season will begin in November and is sure to be a wild ride. “We’ve already heard some of the storylines for that, and we are energized. Ron [Carlivati, head writer] has some exciting stories coming up. There’s both forward-thinking, and [our anniversary] will also harken back to classic DAYS, as well.”
Are there blasts from the past you’d like to see return to celebrate DAYS’ 60th year? What kinds of storylines would you like to see? Tell us your thoughts in the comment section below!
