It looks like Peter Porte’s last day on Days of Our Lives came and went without much fanfare. It turns out that Dimitri von Leuchner’s last Salem stand was in Statesville prison fighting with Lucas Roberts.
Peter Porte Leaves DAYS Behind
According to Soap Opera Digest, Porte’s last airdate on DAYS was December 11. On December 12, Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart), Dimitri’s boyfriend, learned he had been sent to a maximum security prison across the country. Dimitri had just turned himself in so that Leo could go free but he expected Leo to get Sloan to free him soon.
Instead, Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) had Melinda (Tina Huang) get Dimitri transferred to another prison in Nevada.
Now, Leo is the only person in Salem who can ruin Sloan’s plans of passing Nicole’s (Arianne Zucker) baby off as one whom she and Eric (Greg Vaughan) adopted. She worried Dimitri would be a wild card, but now he is gone.
Porte Says So Long To Salem
Porte first appeared as Dimitri on Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem back in 2021 as an ISA agent. This year, he turned out to be a double agent who kidnapped Kate (Lauren Koslow) and made her loved ones believe she was dead while he held her captive on a fishing boat.
He was revealed to be the grandson of Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) and the son of Megan DiMera (Miranda Wilson), who returned from the dead in 2022.
Porte never expected to be a regular on DAYS after his spin-off appearance, but was grateful for the opportunity. He had nothing but glowing things to say about the soap, as he told Digest earlier this year:
“I always wanted to come back because I think [doing DAYS] is the closest to live theater that we have on this coast, and that’s where I got my start. I also am very fortunate to be working with a writing team that is very talented and cares about these characters.,” Porte said. “And the people that I’ve been paired with on this show are everything. The cast that I’ve had the privilege of working with has perhaps been my favorite experience so far.”
