Today’s Days of Our Lives recap for November 20, 2023, details Ava defending herself, Sarah making a decision, and Theresa getting out of a jam.
Ava Takes Action
Ava (Tamara Braun) started her day by apologizing to Harris (Steve Burton) for canceling their first official date. Her new slave driver boss needed her to go over the books, but Ava didn’t say what books. However, she was ready for a rain check, so Harris was game. However, as soon as she hung up, Gil (David A. Lee) was there with new orders.
He needed her to use her relationship with Harris to secure a key to the Salem PD evidence room. Ava refused to do it, pointing out that if Harris learned what she was doing, everything could blow up in their faces. Gil agreed but this is what Clyde (James Read) wanted so it didn’t matter.
As Ava argued some more, Gil had another idea. He wouldn’t tell Clyde she was disobedient if she gave him what he wanted — which was her. Suddenly, he grabbed Ava and tried to sexually assault her. To save herself in that moment, Ava pretended she was going along with him so she could grab his gun.
Gil had to finally back off when she held him at gunpoint. He claimed he was not a rapist, so Ava gently explained to him that ripping a woman’s blouse and telling her that she had no choice but to have sex with him makes him a rapist. So, he once again threatened Tripp.
Rafe (Galen Gering) and Harris met at The Brady Pub where Rafe tasked his new cop with an assignment — find out who really killed Li Shin. Sure, Harris arrested Gabi for the crime, but Rafe believed that his sister was innocent. However, when Mayor Paulina heard Rafe asking for a quiet side investigation, she was not happy.
It would look bad if Gabi’s brother was looking for other suspects when they already had one in custody. Paulina (Jackee Harry) reminded Rafe that he works for her and what she says goes. She liked him and didn’t want to be forced to hire and new police commissioner.
Instead of investigating Li’s murder, Paulina needed Rafe and Harris to look into Salem’s latest influx of illegal drugs. Harris took the assignment and then headed to Ava’s place just to hear shots ring out.
A Kidnapping Brings Peace To ‘Xarah’
Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) naively told Konstantin (John Kapelos) that he was sent from heaven and not from Greece, but quickly changed her mind after he grabbed and kissed her. Of course, she apologized profusely and begged her to forget it ever happened.
Maggie switched right back to naive mode and told Konstantin that he didn’t have to be sorry. He made an error in judgment and all was forgiven. He offered to leave after what happened, but Maggie insisted she wanted him there.
Still, he insisted he had to go and started packing when he was alone. He also took himself to task for being stupid enough to kiss Maggie. Was he really falling for her?
Downstairs, Xander (Paul Telfer) stunned Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) when he told her that he’d be willing to drop the custody suit. After the quick fake kidnapping, Xander couldn’t bear the idea of taking Sarah’s baby away from her. He saw how distraught she was and didn’t ever want to put her through that again.
He admitted that he never believed she was an unfit mother. He was just angry that she lied about their baby throughout her pregnancy and beyond. But, he understood her motives. They both finally admitted they wanted to raise their daughter together.
She’d always known he would be a good father, but she was angry about him kidnapping Susan and Bonnie and didn’t let go of grudges easily. In the end, they agreed to co-parent Victoria. They even nearly kissed until Maggie interrupted them.
Konstantin soon arrived in the living room following Maggie and announced his intention to leave. Of course, Sarah tried to talk him out of it and invited him to stay through Christmas.
Alex To The Rescue
Brady (Eric Martsolf) heard Theresa (Emily O’Brien) leaving a message for Konstantin, telling him that nobody could know what she did. Therefore, Brady wanted to know what she was up to now. Theresa informed him it was a private conversation but Brady refused to drop it.
Needing to say something that was true, Theresa confessed that she slept with Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) when they were all in Greece. She claimed she had to confide in someone so she told Stephanie and asked to keep her little dalliance with Alex a secret. Brady had to make sure it only happened once, so Theresa accused him of being jealous.
As expected, Brady denied the accusation in time for Alex to walk in and diffuse the situation.
