Today’s Days of Our Lives recap for November 16, 2023, details Chad’s quest to rid his life of Everett, Steve’s quest to get the truth about Konstantin, and Theresa’s quest to keep her secret about Alex.
Chad’s Alarming Jealousy

Chad (Billy Flynn) and Stephanie (Abigail Klein) shared an awkward and uneasy breakfast at The Brady Pub. They barely said a word until Chad started complaining that Everett (Blake Berris) published an editorial about what Lady Whistleblower did for love. He couldn’t imagine why “some idiot” would give him the idea to paint Leo (Greg Rikaart) as a hero. Stephanie announced that she was the idiot.
Chad immediately apologized, but Stephanie was not happy. Stephanie explained that Leo was a popular columnist so it was a good idea for The Spectator to make Leo look good so readers wouldn’t lose interest. The editorial was designed to generate clicks.
When Chad told her she could have said no when Everett asked her to work with him, Stephanie accused him of being jealous, so Chad accused her of wanting him to be. Chad chose to hold his tongue at that remark and left.
And that it did. Xander (Paul Telfer) congratulated Everett on the piece because it was doing so well for the paper. In fact, Everett was doing a fantastic job overall. As soon as Everett heard that, he managed to find Stephanie at the pub because he couldn’t wait to tell her the good news.
Stephanie then told Everett about Chad’s reaction to the piece. While Stephanie and Everett enjoyed some coffee, Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) walked in and Everett got to learn that Stephanie dated him before she was with Chad.
As for Chad, he made a beeline to The Spectator to make Xander an offer. He wanted to buy the paper. Xander didn’t even entertain the offer and knew damn well that Chad wanted the paper just so he could fire the new editor. It was very obvious Chad didn’t like his girlfriend working with Everett.
Xander explained that he felt owning the paper made him look like a better father for his day in court. So, Chad got another idea to make his wish of owning The Spectator come true.
Konstantin Seems Suspicious

Xander called Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) to make sure she was ready for the custody hearing. Sarah just wanted to know if he was serious about having Eric (Greg Vaughan) testify that she was an unfit mother. Xander insisted that he wasn’t giving up on his daughter. He was still angry that Sarah kept the truth about the baby from him. Sarah still refused to co-parent, so the legal fight was on.
After Sarah hung up, Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) entered the room and the topic turned to Konstantin (John Kapelos). Sarah was surprised to hear he was staying in Salem through the holidays. She was concerned that Maggie was growing so close to Konstantin so soon after Victor’s death. Konstantin overheard the conversation and was pleased that Maggie defended him.
When Konstantin ran into Steve (Stephen Nichols) in Horton Square, he put on his kind visitor act, so Steve casually wondered if he was headed to Saxtons to buy a new tablecloth. Konstantin tried to laugh Steve off but Steve didn’t mince words. He accused Konstantin of lying and wanted to know why.
Konstantin admitted he lied but claimed he did it just to lift Maggie’s spirits. Steve didn’t seem to believe the man and warned him he’d be in trouble if the lies continued. And Steve wasn’t giving up there. His next stop was to see John (Drake Hogestyn).
Steve explained to his friend that Maggie had a new friend who claimed to be someone Victor grew up with in Greece. Steve didn’t trust the man and wanted John to help him investigate. John suggested they go to Greece to get to the bottom of things.
Theresa’s Dilemma

Theresa (Emily O’Brien) began her day watching Alex work out in the living room. When he realized she was there, he halted his routine and asked if Theresa had an answer for him yet — would she help him re-launch Bella Magazine? She wanted the job but worried that their living arrangement could cause work issues, considering that they were once friends with benefits.
Alex didn’t think that would be a problem at all, so he welcomed her to the team. Theresa felt so good about the job that she called Kimberly to tell her, but all her mother could do was wonder if she slept her way to this position.
Theresa was soon alarmed when Konstantin showed up at the door and said he was ready to tell Alex the truth — he wasn’t Victor’s son and Theresa was in on the whole scam. He didn’t care if she didn’t get Alex’s money as long as he got Maggie’s.
He wanted Theresa to help him win Sarah’s trust or he would spill the beans to Alex. He also needed her to sneak into the Kiriakis mansion to pull off his plan.
