Today’s Days of Our Lives recap for December 6, 2023, details Harris and Ava’s first date amidst the specter of missing evidence room keys.
Love Built On Lies?
Harris (Steve Burton) and Ava (Tamara Braun) continued enjoying their first date in an empty Salem Bistro. Harris even offered to make them dinner in the restaurant kitchen. Ava was a bit skeptical but Harris managed to produce a perfect pasta Italian meal.
Ava was highly impressed with the results considering that Harris wasn’t Italian. Too bad Harris put a damper on things when all he could talk about were his work keys. He still felt so guilty for losing them, which led Ava to feel guilty for stealing them.
Ava quickly changed the subject so the romance could resume. Alone in the restaurant, Harris and Ava shared a special dance, as well as another kiss. We can see why Hope (Kristian Alfonso) fell for him when she thought Bo (Peter Reckell) was dead.
Back at the Salem PD, Rafe (Galen Gering) and Jada (Elia Cantu) discussed Gabi’s impending joy now that Dimitri (Peter Porte) turned himself in and would pay for what he did to her and Stefan (Brandon Barash). After the Gabi small talk, Mayor Paulina (Jackee Harry) arrived to chastise Rafe for allowing a drug dealer loose as the evidence against him disappeared.
Rafe and Jada assured Paulina that nothing like that would ever happen again. They would also shut the new drug cartel down and that was that. Jada later told Rafe that she blamed herself for what happened because she may have left the evidence room unlocked. Rafe still believed this all went back to Harris’s keys.
They finally decided to head back to Jada’s place for a little relaxation. Rafe was amused by Jada’s Charlie Brown Christmas tree as she explained she didn’t have room for much else in her Brady Pub room.
Stefan’s Failed Quest
Stefan still can’t believe he had to call in his “octagenarian mother to order a hit” for him, but that’s exactly what he did. He contacted Vivian (Louise Sorel) to ask her to have Ivan (Ivan G’vera) kill Clyde (James Read) while in Statesville. As he stood in Horton Square and muttered to himself “that bastard needs to die,” Chad (Billy Flynn) came up behind him and asked who he wanted dead.
For some reason, Stefan felt the need to tell him a cover story rather than bring him in on this. We’re sure nobody would like Clyde dead more than Chad considering Clyde is behind bars for killing his beloved Abigail (Marci Miller).
Instead, Stefan allowed Chad to believe he was trying to kill EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) because he was trying to put Gabi behind bars for life for a murder she didn’t commit. Eventually, Stefan circled back to Clyde and mentioned he should burn in hell for what he did to Abigail.
When Vivian finally called her precious son back, she refused to have Ivan do his dirty work.
Everett And Stephanie Investigate
Gwen (Emily O’Brien) finally called Everett (Blake Berris) back and had some news. She no longer owned The Spectator and had absolutely nothing to do with him being fired. That would be on the paper’s new owner — she just wouldn’t say who he was.
Soon, Stephanie stopped by to tell him that Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer (Cady McClain) were willing to hire them for their Boston newspaper, but that would mean Everett needed to move again. He didn’t want to do that so he told Stephanie all about his conversation with Jack’s daughter, Gwen.
After some online online searching, they learned Flynn Industries bought the paper. So, Stephanie called Shane Donovan (Charles Shaughnessy) to see if he could find out who owned it. After Shane emailed Everett a name, he didn’t want to show Stephanie, but she insisted. Imagine her shock and horror when she learned Chad bought The Spectator and immediately had her ex fired.
After Stephanie left, she found Chad in the Square and was ready to confront him about what he did.
