Beloved General Hospital star Rena Sofer (Lois Cerullo) took to social media on Sunday to announce the passing of fur baby Alfie.

“I have too much to say. But I have no words right now. It’s all just so much pain,” began the message Sofer wrote on Instagram alongside pictures and video of Alfie. “Yesterday was the most devastating yet expected day. But it was too soon.
I only had my boy for 7 years and 8 days. Cancer stole him from me, from Sandy [Bookstaver, Sofer’s husband], from Avalon [Bookstaver and Sofer’s daughter] and from his sister Mega. From everyone who knew and loved him. I love all my dogs… but without remorse…Alfie was my favorite. My heart and soul dog. I am destroyed and numb. The greatest gift we gave each other was each other. I will miss you forever and ever and ever.”

Sofer’s former Bold and the Beautiful costar Karla Mosley (ex-Maya Avant) and fellow daytime soaper Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers, The Young and the Restless) were among the many to leave condolences.
