Trina was on the verge of getting everything she had ever wanted on General Hospital. She and Spencer took off to Paris and the future looked bright…until it all fell apart. Trina’s portrayer, Tabyana Ali, spoke out on what’s to come for her much-loved character.

Tabyana Ali spoke to Soap Opera Digest about what fans can expect in the coming months. Spencer’s assumed death not only rocks Port Charles but hits Trina hard on a deep and personal level.
“I think it is going to be hard for Trina to do. I think to some degree, Trina is feeling guilty. She feels really guilty about all of this, and in some ways she feels like this is her fault,” she said about Spencer’s presumed death. “So there is going to be some guilt there and some resistance to wanting to live herself.”
Don’t think it will be all dark days forever, though. Tabyana has hope Trina will pull through this heartbreaking time and come through the other side. “I would say that Trina is a girl that perseveres through anything and everything. She’s tough and she’s strong, and even if sometimes she might have her eyes closed in the dark, she’s still walking through it. I’m not 100 percent sure of what’s coming towards Trina next, but I know that she’ll be able to turn it into gold.”
While she didn’t disclose whether or not viewers will see Spencer again, daytime fans carry hope he’ll reemerge. He may have fallen into the dark waters, but people have come back from similar (and worse) circumstances. Maybe, just maybe, there’s still more in store for the Sprina fandom. One day.
