It’s that time again! Another episode of The Daily Drama Podcast with Bradford Anderson and Steve Burton. The Daily Drama Podcast, brought to you by DailyDrama.com — “Your favorite website, even if you don’t know it yet.” This week’s special guest: Carolyn Hennesy AKA General Hospital’s legal shark Diane Miller.
Carolyn Hennesy Catches Up With The Guys
The biggest (and most hilarious) takeaway from the chitchat? Steve and Bradford have missed a lot of development as far as Diane is concerned. (Granted more Steve than Bradford, but still!) Like her on-again, off-again, on-again romance with D.A. Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) and getting “gutted stem to sternum” by The Port Charles Hook(er).
And no, Max is no longer in the picture, nor are Diane and Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) partners in that law firm, and it doesn’t appear that any capers are in the dynamic duo’s future. More’s the pity.
But, that’s alright. Diane has plenty of fish to fry — make that plenty of people to wriggle off the hook — and Carolyn has a “delicious” and “scrumptious” wardrobe to do it in.
When asked what her alter-ego would do should Jason knock on her door, the actress immediately answered with “start crying.” He is, “her favorite client,” after all.
Personal Pursuits
Hennesy works hard, but she also plays hard. Her many pastimes include performing routines on the static trapeze — routines such as “The Cinnamon Roll”, “The Carolyn”, “The Candlestick”, “The Gazelle”, and * shudder * “The Pube Ripper.” Steve, a graduate of the Circus of the Stars who performed daring dos on the flying trapeze was with her right up until that last one!
Outside of General Hospital
Trapezing and traversing the minefield that is Port Charles gets Carolyn busy, but she still has time for other projects. She and Sean Kanan (Deacon Sharpe, The Bold and the Beautiful) are itching to do a third season of indie soap Studio City, and eagle-eye fans might just spot her in an ad for State Farm opposite “diminutive” Chris Paul.
Exciting Signoff
As the convo wrapped and the trio began bidding their goodbyes, Steve enthused that, “The first two weeks of the show have been awesome to be back, and I’ve worked with a lot of different people, and it’s been really exciting and I’m excited for the next couple of years.” High praise indeed — looks like GH’s new head writing team knows what they’re doing!
As per usual, the latest installment of the Daily Drama Podcast is a rollicking good time. But don’t just take out word for it. Check it out in full, then take to the comments section and share your thoughts.
