Sean Kanan Teases A Possible Fun Family Connection on The Bold and the Beautiful

The Bold and the Beautiful’s Sean Kanan has spent decades playing the legendary cross-over character Deacon Sharpe. He’s taken his character from Los Angeles to Genoa City and back again more than once over the years. During all that time, though, we’ve never quite gotten to know his history, his family, or much about his parents. Is that about to change?

Sean Kanan Dishes on Deacon’s Family

The topic of Deacon’s kinfolk was brought up during a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest. “Remember, he doesn’t know who his father is. He knows his stepfather, who’s a real piece of work,” he relayed to the publication. “But, we don’t know who Deacon’s mother is. So he’s constantly looking for some stability, some sense of grounding and connection and family that he didn’t really have growing up.”

That said, we wonder if he’s finally found his dad. Sean Kanan touched on that, too. “He’s got Hope, he’s got Sheila, and he’s really taken Tom under his wing.” Hmm…bringing up Tom. We wonder why. Could it be? Is the man who helped save Deacon’s beloved his father? Sean Kanan couldn’t confirm nor deny, but he did share that Deacon is quite keen on his new friend. “He recognizes Tom as a guy that’s down on his luck. Everybody needs some help sometimes, and Deacon’s in a position where he can provide it.”

Wouldn’t that be something?! We agree it’s high time Deacon gets some family of his very own. Right now, all he has in the world are Hope and Sheila. Sure, he has friends scattered here and there, but a mom or a dad (or both) could be great for his character and add a little more spice to his life.
