Karla Mosley (ex-Maya Avant Forrester, The Bold and the Beautiful), a recently announced hire for CBS’ Beyond The Gates, couldn’t be more thrilled for the journey that awaits her.

The actress took to Instagram with an effusive message that reads: “And so it begins…

“It’s been a minute, but it’s time to get back to it. My gratitude could not be any deeper to the Soap Opera icon (and my dear friend) [Michele Val Jean] for your vision, courage and joy in creating this groundbreaking project. The first new soap in over 20 years, y’all!

“To [Tamara Tunie] and [Daphnee Duplaix] my heart is just exploding. What a gift to be cast opposite both of you. To my [CBS] family I am so proud to be back. To [Kim Taylor Coleman] – thank you thank you thank you. And to [Creative Talent Company] and [Buchwald Talent] thank you for seeing me for so long.

Per the official synopsis:

“Beyond the Gates is set in a leafy Maryland suburb just outside of Washington D.C., and in one the most affluent African American counties in the United States. Here you’ll find a posh gated community with winding tree-lined streets and luxurious mansions to call home.

“At the center of this community are the Duprees, a powerful and prestigious multi-generational family that is the very definition of Black royalty. But behind these pristine walls and lush, manicured gardens are juicy secrets and scandals waiting to be uncovered. And those that live outside these gates are watching closely. These are the places where our characters live, love, work and play. Those who have ‘made it’ and those who haven’t are all trying to navigate life … and some with more grace than others.”

Mosley has been tapped to play Dani Dupree, “a former model turned momager who gave up her career for love. Dani was the Dupree family wild child. Free-spirited, headstrong and uninhibited, she dropped out of school to pursue a high-flying modeling career and she has always marched to the beat of her own drum.”

Meanwhile, Duplaix and Tunie will star as Dani’s sister, Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson, and her mother, Anita Dupree, respectively.

BTG is set to commence taping on November 4th.

As previously detailed, Bob Guza (a former headwriter of General Hospital and scribe of multiple other sudsers) and veteran producer Julie Hanan Carruthers (who stewarded, amongst others, Port Charles, GH, and All My Children) have boarded the series as executive producers alongside creatrix/showrunner/headwriter Michele Val Jean.

Sheila Ducksworth, Leon Russell, Derrick Johnson and Kimberly Doebereiner will also serve as EPs.
