Today’s Days of Our Lives recap for December 8, 2023, details EJ’s bad suggestion, Sloan’s bad luck, Dimitri’s bad deed, and Holly’s bad plan.

What Was EJ Thinking?

Nicole (Arianne Zucker) was offended when she heard EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) telling Johnny (Carson Boatman) that her behavior had been erratic of late. Once alone in the living room, EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) told Nicole that he’s been worried about her. Nicole admitted she went off the rails when their first baby died, but was sure that wouldn’t happen this time.

That didn’t stop her from breaking down and expressing how much justifiable emotional pain she was in. Too bad EJ is an insensitive man and suggested they try again, as if the baby they just lost could be replaced.

Of course, Nicole could barely believe he could say such a thing. She didn’t know how she’d even go through another pregnancy after what just happened. This baby was a miracle and now he was gone. Allegedly.

A Fateful Phone Call

Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) stood over a bassinet telling Nicole’s baby that nobody would ever find out his true identity. Amazingly, the baby was cooing and blowing raspberries at around four days old in Salem time. All Eric wanted to talk about was Sloan’s client Dimitri and his part in Nicole’s baby’s alleged death.

Sloan quickly changed the subject and got down to multi-tasking — work and motherhood at the same time. She even put ready-to-bake cookies in the oven so Roman would have refreshments when he visited.

When Roman (Josh Taylor) arrived, he was amazed that the baby looked so much like Eric when he was cooing a newborn blowing raspberries just like this advanced baby. Sloan was just happy to see a glowing grandpa and thought nothing could spoil her magic moment full of lies.

After Roman left, Eric listened to a voicemail from the lawyer Melinda (Tina Huang) was dealing with saying he was sorry the adoption fell through. Sloan clearly had a lot of explaining to do.

Leo’s Guilt

Leo’s (Greg Rikaart) first order of business when visiting Dimitri (Peter Porte) in Statesville was to find out what really happened to EJ and Nicole’s baby. He explained that he dropped the baby off with Sloan and Melinda, thinking they’d just bring him to the hospital. He never expected Sloan to claim the baby as her own.

Leo was as confused as the rest of us as to why Dimitri was keeping this secret for Sloan. It’s not like she’s the only lawyer in town. Dimitri wanted Leo to tell Sloan he knew everything because he wanted Sloan to be their slave and do whatever was necessary to help them. Still made no sense, but Leo seemed to buy it.

However, Leo didn’t go see Sloan after his visit with Dimitri. Instead, he showed up at Nicole’s front door.

Teenage Interlopers

When Tate (Jaime Martin Mann) asked Roman for a night off work, he was surprised when his uncle assumed he had a big date with Holly (Ashley Puzemis). Tate denied being with Holly, saying his boomer dad didn’t want him dating.

Chanel (Raven Bowens) apologized to Holly for thinking she had a crush on Johnny (Carson Boatman) by giving her an extra scone. Chanel was thrilled that Holly and Tate were together so Holly decided to go along with the story. At least Chanel no longer thought that Holly had a thing for Johnny.

When Holly made her way into the Pub, she took Johnny to task for making everyone believe they were dating. Tate tried to defend himself, but Holly was too angry and accused Tate of opening his big mouth just to sabotage her chances with Johnny.

That didn’t mean Tate wasn’t shocked when Holly told them they should pretend date while she worked to sabotage Johnny and Chanel’s romance.

Chanel did her best to be there for Johnny after losing his baby brother. She even thought it would be fine if Holly and Johnny were a support system for one another because they are going through the same thing.

Johnny then informed Chanel that he was planning something special for what would have been their two-year wedding anniversary.
